About this listen

She didn’t know he was watching. Until it was too late. She’d walked this path hundreds of times before; she knew every twist and turn. But today was different. She didn’t know someone was waiting for her, hidden away from view. She didn’t know this was the last time she’d walk this path.

Hidden deep in the forest, schoolgirl Felicity Parker is found carefully laid out on a rock with nothing but a freshly picked bunch of flowers next to her lifeless form. Detective Jenna Alton is called in to investigate the gruesome discovery.

With the body found just off a popular hiking route, Jenna believes the killer is a visitor to the town...until a second local girl is discovered.

Within days, Kate Bright, a school friend of Felicity’s, is found brutally murdered at the local swimming pool, and once again the killer has displayed his victim in a terrifying manner and left flowers at the scene. The town is gripped with fear, and Jenna and her deputy, David Kane, now know that the killer is living among them and that he’s picking off school girls one by one. But they don’t know who is next on the list.

As the trail goes cold, Kane and Alton are forced to sit and wait for the killer to make his next move. But now he has a new victim in his sights, and he’s looking much closer to home....

If you love Robert Dugoni, Karin Slaughter, and Rachel Abbott, you’ll love this nail-biting thriller from D.K. Hood.

Terrible Narrator!

This is a great story and if the narrator that was used for the first book had been used for this book, I would have given it straight fives. This narrator sounds like she has laryngitis and a mouth full of marbles. It was so distracting I could hardly finish the book. I've been listening to audio books for the last 10 years and have listened to hundreds of books and this is the first time I've complained about a narrator.

Horrible Narrator

Loved the first book and the Narrator. The second book in the series is great but the Narrator is AWFUL!!! I’m disappointed that there are 3 different narrators for the 4 books in the series. Hopefully the next narrator for book 3 and 4 will be better than this one!!! It’s painful listening to her voice the male characters.

A Narrator ruined the story

The story was ok but the monotone British Accent ruined the cowboys and main characters for me. the narrator in the first book made the story and characters come alive. this was painful to listen too.

Bring Me Flowers review

I really enjoyed the first book in this series but the narrator in this second book made it very difficult listening. I only continued because I did enjoy the first book. I hate to disparage any narrator however the slight Irish accent and lack of emotional expression did not compliment this otherwise good story. I left mid book twice before deciding to finish listening. I did enjoy the story itself and would recommend reading it rather than listening to the audible version.

Liked Series but

Narration almost made this unbearable. Love listening to books in series but almost skipped this book because of narrator. No flow, characters’ voices all sounded British with country slang. Other listeners, you can skip this book in series, will not be a loss.

Terrible Narrator

Both Book 1 and Book 2 in this series have had terrible narration. The setting is in Montana and the narrator has a British/North Dakota accent in Book 2. Book 1, had a whiny, little girl narrator that I almost quit listening to. Good stories, bit I'm sure that I would've liked them better if I had read them.

Enunciation isn’t realistic

Enjoyed the story but the narrator is difficult to listen to. She enunciates to the point that it doesn’t sound normal. People don’t talk like that.

Very hard to listen to

It was hard to tell the difference between the characters because the narrator was very monotone and all characters blended together. Very hard to get through the book.
