What could possibly go wrong fake dating the gorgeous single dad in a small town? The answer, you fall for him.
It started out perfect. Grady Whitlock needed a plus one for his business meetings, and I needed a date for a wedding.
We had a plan. It was a good one. Until it wasn’t.
I was not supposed to have feelings for him. I was not going to let my heart race when his soulful blue eyes stared into mine. No way should I have noticed his smile or the dimple on his right cheek or his strong arms when he held me close. I especially wasn’t going to melt when I saw him play with my daughter. Most of all I was not going to sleep with him.
Nope. None of that was supposed to happen, but it does.
Now I find myself dreaming of him every night. Wishing we were really a couple, because the way he kisses me doesn’t feel as if it’s pretend.
But we’ve both watched our dreams shatter, and I can’t handle another broken heart.

Grady and Addison are both single parents learning to live after they each lost their spouses. I loved how their relationship just grew organically and I absolutely ADORED Jett and Elodie's friendship too.
I may have been on the edge of tears a few times while reading, it was just so touching and heartwarming...I loved this book in its entirety.
WELL DONE, CORINNE!!!

I found several reviews about narration before I bought the book. There were specific negative comments about the female narration. I’m extremely picky about narration. I have many books I’d love to read as an audiobook, but won’t invest the credit bc of a narrator. That said, I didn’t have any problems with Kit Swann’s performance. Her narration as Addison and other women was exceptional, and I became so lost in the story bc of that. Her narration as men was good, and though her narration as children isn’t her strongest, it wasn’t a deterrent at all.
Well worth the credit!

Grady is a widower with a 3 year old son - Jett. Addison is a widow with a 3 year old daughter - Elodie. He's a former Navy fighter pilot, trying to start a business running charter flights for wealthy businessman. Addison heads up a refuge for runaways - originally started with the aim of protecting young girls who were being trafficked.
He needs a girlfriend to impress his investors. She needs a date to a wedding, as she's ready to start dating again - but the dates she's been on are BAD.
Addy is open to dating and possibly marriage and more children in her future, Grady is determined not to let anyone close enough to hurt his heart - or Jett's - if things didn't work out. So, fake dating it is. But the chemistry is REAL, and so are the feelings growing between the two of them.
Then Addy and her partner get the offer of a lifetime to grow Run To Me - but it would require Addy and Elodie move back to her hometown in Oregon. Can Grady let her go when she's found a place in her heart?
4.5 stars from me on this one.

🎧 Narration: i finished my arc & immediately had to listen to the audio after i heard a clip. it did not disappoint. sebastian york was absolutely perfect for grady. he was gruff but soft & he did an excellent job with the stern vibes during the spicy scenes 🔥 kit swann did a really nice job as addison. she did such a great voice for grady & the kids. overall the audio enhanced the book & i would recommend the audio.
oh gosh this one was a heart wrenching story premise but corinne (per usual) wrote it so well i felt so satisfied & happy with grady & addison’s love story. bonding over tragedy brought the two together & wanting to accomplish moving into the next step of their lives has the two hatching a fake dating plan that is supposed to be straight forward & easy. but these two just had too much chemistry for it to go according to plan 🤣 instead they slowly & deliciously go from friends to lovers to falling in love 😍. i adored this story & cannot wait for more visits to sugarloaf.
