About this listen

Everyone gets their heart broken at least once. Whether you're a mercenary in 17th-century Hungary or a transplant to Missouri in 2019, we've all been there. But in some universes, love's aftermath is a tad more gruesome. From crunching bones on midnight asphalt to burning flesh in an ashen snowfall, everyone has to learn some way. There are horrors worse than a broken heart...right?

This was quite an eclectic collection of short stories! From a feeling of old world or modern day, each story grabbed my attention and drew me in. This author's imagination is colorful, and if painted in gruesome imagery or more mental titillation, it's delivered in a way that pulls the listener's appetite hungering for more.
The Werewolf Truce and An Angry God were probably my favorites, even though they were written wonderfully differently. The Werewolf Truce felt historical and yet doused in horror, making a very cool story. An Angry God has a wonderful twist that I loved.
I expect to see more from this talent who owns his own voice that I haven't experienced much before.
Rock on, Xavier and feed us more!

Love the depth of this author's writing.
