Story
From working as clerks and secretaries in the 1950s, women today are now holding top positions in the world’s largest corporations. Yet women remain vastly underrepresented in leadership roles, making up only 5 percent of Fortune 500 CEOs and 10 percent of top management positions in S&P 1500 companies, despite accounting for 47 percent of the labor workforce. The reason for this has nothing to do with intelligence, skills, or personality. Biases, gender expectations, and discrimination are definitely major contributing factors.

Story
In today’s work environment, the lines between our professional and personal lives are blurred more than ever before. Whatever is happening to us outside of our workplace - whether stressful, painful, or joyful - follows us into work as well. We may think we have to keep these realities under wraps and act as if we “have it all together”. But as Mike Robbins explains, we can work better, lead better, and be more engaged and fulfilled if - instead of trying to hide who we are- we show up fully and authentically.

At every step, Thompson reminds listeners that coaching is not merely about what the coach says or does; it's about who he or she is.

Inspiration, educational, and positive guidance!
I really enjoyed listening to this book. The narration was well-paced and the actual content was so inspiring. The book touches some important and good areas on being positive and becomes like a motivational talk. It truly inspired me to not only become an effective leader, it gave me an idea on how I may impact many more people with depression in a positive way!

Good bundle
This was a good lesson and a good bundle. I personally feel like leadership and public speaking go hand-in-hand. As a leader you’re talking to a multitude of people whether it’s individual or small group settings or even large group settings. I personally struggle more with public speaking so I learned a bit more from that book but that’s personal. Recommend for those coming into these types of positions.

Every Aspiring Leader Needs this Book!
I really like how they simplify the process and highlight things that you wouldn't think of. It also really helps put things in perspective.
And most importantly, it really helps define what leadership is and how you should tackle it - sometimes in ways that are so simple, you're shocked you didn't realize them before.

Perfect after a college leadership course
I recently finished a class about organizational leadership and felt this book played well off what I learned in school. While school taught more academic information, this book taught me a lot of the "street smarts" and real-world information. Lots of better explanations of different leading styles and how they work in a realistic environment. Also, I am so glad I went for the bundle package since it included double the information without having to pay for each book individually!
