Tangled Webs of Deceit

Carolyn Haines brings the current day and rich history of the Mississippi Delta to life.
This mystery series is a cut above the better cozies. Her characters weather dead or alive are engaging. I look forward to the rest of the story.

Rediscovering an old favourite

I've long loved the Sarah Booth Delaney series. Mine are sitting on my bookshelves, a pile of well-thumbed paperbacks. I stumbled on the audiobooks and they are an absolute delight. I'm rediscovering the series in another medium.

keeps getting better

sarah is a today woman, without the forensics, without a plerhora of romance, ut believably real, she still manages to solve some very good conundrums as a fledgling pi...glad there are more...

yet another interesting continuation

many hours of enjoyment listing to this one - and of course like any great story it demands that you go on to #3 - love Sweetie the dog - could do without the ghost - but all in all it's a great listen

Southern, Sassy and Soulful Fun

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I want all my Daddy Girl friends to get hooked on these Southern, Sassy and Soulful fun characters. I loved this book. It's one of those relaxing fun reads where you get laughs and entertained throughout the book. Sarah Booth Delaney with her family antebellum home complete with haunting of Gitty the ghost , best friend Tinky and her ability to sleuth in and out of trouble, leads readers in and out of hysterical situations.

What other book might you compare Buried Bones to and why?

This book is a mixture of Sweet Home Alabama meets the YaYa Sisterhood with a little Janet Evanich crazy antics of Stephanie Plum series!

Which scene was your favorite?

I loved the idea of Moon Lake casino with its historic setting of an old riverboat gothic architectural casino from the 1960's being filled with scrapbooks of famous people and preserved antiques and mystery of its own.

Who was the most memorable character of Buried Bones and why?

There were many interesting characters but the way Gitty, the ghost , interacts in her ever changing wardrobe with the main character Sarah Booth as her guide to life and her family history, and guides her through so many thought provoking moments makes her my favorite.

Any additional comments?

I can't wait to continue the series. Everyone needs a little Sarah Booth and friends escape from reality.
