About this listen

Former Pinkerton agent Buck Trammel has made quite a name for himself in the Old West. Now he's got to live up to his own legend or get gut shot trying....

Johnstone Country. The Bullets Stop Here.

If you cant beat 'em, shoot 'em!

There are two things a man can never escape: his past and his destiny. For Buck Trammel, that past includes a fatal mistake that ended his career as a Pinkerton and a deadly shootout with the Bower gang in a Witchita saloon. Call it luck or call it fate, but the famous Deputy Wyatt Earp was there to give Buck some advice: Run for your life.

Maybe it was Earps warning that saved him from the gangs wrath. Maybe it was destiny that brought him to the town of Blackstone, Wyoming, where his biggest problem is a father-son brewing war. But Trammels luck is about to run dry....

The gangs ruthless boss, Old Man Bower, knows where Trammel lives. He's assembled a small army of gunslingers. He's hired a Pinkerton with a grudge against Trammel. And he's coming to town to bury the hatchet....

Live free. Listen hard.

Great Follow-up.

Fun western. I like Big Buck Trammel. He’s one of Johnstone best characters. There, that’s at least 15 words.

Pronunciation problem on the part of the narrator.

Narrator needs to learn to pronounce the word "dour" like sour not "do-er". She had a dour look! In other words she looked rather somber and depressed.

family friends and enemies

those crazy pinkerton agents ruin all the fun. throw in a unhinged father figure and a bon vivant bitter 'son' and you have an exciting episode.

BURY THE HATCHET

This is a great western. Shoot em up style. Buck has a lot of enemies. I wish he had more on his side. There is a lot of back stabbing in this book. Kind of everyone hating everyone. I liked the storyline but it was missing something. I think it was for me every body was against everyone. But I still liked it and will buy the next book. Buck is a tough no nonsense Marshall. He takes the fight to them. I like that. I couldn't stop listening to the end. It's an great storyline. Jack Garrett does a great job narrating this book.
