About this listen

From best-selling authors William W. Johnstone and J.A. Johnstone comes a blazing new saga of the MacAllisters. One family, forging a destiny. One legacy, sworn to justice. One name, branded in the heart of America....

The Scottish Highlands, 1885. Two men, brandishing knives, attack a young woman outside a pub. Duff MacAllister steps in and saves her - killing one of the assailants. Big mistake. The attacker was the sheriff's son, and now MacAllister is marked for death. His only hope: America. Here, in the sprawling land of dreams, Duff hopes to start a new life with his American cousins. Unfortunately, the sheriff's deputies are tracking him down - with nine of the deadliest cutthroats money can buy. Blazing a trail of blood and bullets all the way to the Rockies, Duff has to kill his enemies one by one - or die trying. But this time, Duff is not alone. He has a new ally by his side. A living legend of frontier justice. The gunslinger known as Falcon MacAllister....

This is another great Story by the Johnstone’s, loved the characters and the action. I wasn’t sure I was going to like the narration as P.J. Ochlan didn’t sound like a “Western” narrator but I was WRONG! Mr. Ochlan brought every character to life and made it seem like there were more than one narrator. Kudos to Mr. Ochlan and the Johnstone’s for bringing another story to life.

This has been a wonderful experience. The story brings you right in from the start and keeps you wrapped in it until the very end.

The voice characterization was well done: however, the spoken narrative was not. it sounded like a third grader learning to read.

The reader.

Great characters and really fine story. Mr. Ochlan did really well with the Scottish and New York characters but seemed strained for the westerners. Lord knows I couldn't pull off the variety of accents so I still commend him highly.

MacCallister A character I want to read more

Story is good, but, the reader was awful. He did good on Scottish accent, and read like a first grade teacher .

Poor elocution by narrator

The story is OK but my family has lived in Wyoming since the 1870’s. There are glaring problems with the geography, and history. Geography; Tie Sidings is 18 miles South of Laramie, which is 50 miles West of Cheyenne. Tracy, Wyoming is an old watering station for steam locomotive a few miles East of Pinebluffs, Wyoming which is 41 miles East of Cheyenne. Chugwater is 15 miles North of Cheyenne. There is no way that this even a route someone on horse back would have ridden it is nearly 200 miles. As for Chugwater the town site was granted by The Swan Cattle Company in 1887 it was established as a “dry”town . This is the big problem with Johnstone westerns, the geographical placement is terrible. I can forgive the formulaic nature of all of these stories.

Good story, But very poor Geography
