About this listen

C# is simple but powerful. C# is a simple and general-purpose object-oriented programming language. Combine this with its versatility and huge standard library, and it's easy to see why it's such a popular and well-respected programming language. Create graphical applications, Web-based apps, and more. When you learn how to program in C#, you will be able to develop Web-based applications or graphical desktop applications. One of the best things about C# is that it's easy to learn...especially with this book. Here's just some of what you'll learn:

  • What an IDE is and which one you should use when developing C# applications
  • How to create your first program
  • The various data types used in C#
  • Operators - arithmetic, relational, and logical
  • How to iterate of a set of items using four different types of loops
  • Ways to make decisions in your code
  • About object-oriented programming (OOP)
  • What objects and classes are
  • All about modifiers and methods
  • Advanced topics, such as inheritance and polymorphism
  • How to create multithreaded applications to take advantage of several CPUs at once
  • More...

Practice exercises that will help make programming in C# click for you are included. Includes an exercise at the end of each chapter (along with the solution) so you can practice what you've learned. Great for beginning programmers or those who are new to the Java language.

If you've never programmed before, don't worry. This book will guide you step by step to creating your first software application. If you have some programming experience, then this book will teach you the specifics of the Java programming language.

Would you consider the audio edition of C# Programming for Beginners to be better than the print version?

This doesn't really apply for C# books. The audio book is purely a companion to the actual book due to the nature of the subject matter.

What was one of the most memorable moments of C# Programming for Beginners?

Teaches you everything about getting set up and the foundations of the subject matter.

Which scene was your favorite?

Listening to the narrator read out lines of code was amusing, difficult to do as it is a visual subject you need to read rather than listen to. The narrator did a great job given what he was reading.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, I listened to it in the car on the way to work.

Any additional comments?

Don't get this without also buying the physical book. Due to the code examples you need to see them to fully understand the subject matter.

Great companion to the actual book

Any additional comments?

Despite what others say: you do not need the companion book to get something out of this audiobook.
That being said: Do not listen to it with out having read other material and becoming familiar C#.
If one is having difficult with the materials, then listening to this book can help solidify one's understanding by emphasizing the main points and ideology instead of focusing on the minor details.
Most course books can get one lost in confusing detail laden run on sentences with confusing syntax.
The 30 second rewind in Audible is a godsend if you need a point reiterated.
I really benefited by listening to this book while walking outside.

Good by itself

it didn't have much to the design aspect of c# and it was basically just telling the functions that you can use. I guess as a beginner book it was ok.

it was alright
