About this listen

Nothing is easy, nothing works out the way you expect. These are lessons learned by Patty Decker when she finds herself living in a travel trailer in a park in Florida. With a bit of a chip on her shoulder she winds up solving the mystery of her neighbor's murder. She liked him a lot better after he was dead....

I quite enjoyed this short story. The main character is a grumpy character, but she knows it, and I think she tries to work on it, when she can, or when she feels like it. The mystery was almost secondary to what Patty was going to do next, for me, anyway. She has seen a lot of sorrows, and can see some ghosts, sometimes. I like her and will see what she is up to in her next book. Gretchen LaBuhn does a great job narrating.

I liked this story, and will listen to the second.

I quite enjoyed this story of was it murder or suicide? I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Enjoyable short mystery

This short book is just okay. The protagonist is difficult to like and supporting characters are thinly developed. This is a mystery story of a twice widowed retiree living in what I see as a retirement RV park. A cranky neighbor ends up dead and our cranky protagonist, who sees ghosts, takes up investigating his death. This is short, so not a lot of time to develop the story or characters; therefore the book falls flat. There is a rush to the predictable ending.
Like I said, it’s okay.

Writer Patty Decker has a little help with solving a mysterious death by the ghost himself. I loved this story especially the quirky character of Patty Decker she may be nosey but her instincts proved to be on point. The storyline is creative and well written. This book may be short but it checks all the boxes. I highly recommend this book. I received this book from Audiobooks Unleashed and this is my honest unbiased review.
