Publisher's summary

Welcome to Normal, Kentucky, where NOTHING is normal.

Gears, Grills, & Guns: Mae West is bound to prove she deserves the seat she was appointed to on the National Park Committee. But when Wendell Holliday's body is found dead in one of Happy Trails Campground bungalows, Mae along with the help of the Laundry Club Ladies once again put on their sleuthing caps.

Eggnog, Extortion, & Evergreens: Mae West is busy this Christmas season. One of the patients in the emergency room with Mae didn't die that night of natural causes, and Hank Sharp has himself a new homicide case on his hands. Once again, Mae West with the help of the Laundry Club Ladies put on their amateur sleuth cap to help solve the mystery of the murders before the killer sends her a Christmas gift she can't return.

Ropes, Riddles, & Robberies: Mae has been having memories about the house fire that killed her family, leaving her orphaned. As a child she couldn't do much to prove the fire wasn't an accident, but as an adult and with a group of friends to help, Mae is on the case to put the clues of the past together to bring out the truth.

Fun and Easy Listening

I enjoy the story lines and the steady characters. Just when you think you figured it out, you realize you don’t.

Love the characters and overall story.

Sofar I've listened to all the books available on audible. I love the overall story and the characters. The only complaint, story consistency. In first book Hank's granny is his mom, then she's his granny, then shes his mom again, then back to granny. She's 14 when her family dies, but in later books she talks like she's been in foster care since a young girl and lived with Mary Elizabeth for forever not just 4 yrs. She has a bio brother and sister in one book, then two sisters and brother in another book, then back to one of each again. Original story line of fire she was asleep in her room, then in another book she was asleep on the couch in the living room. In the ER Hank says he's only found her "AGAIN" after a few years, then it's dropped. May never questions it. No mention again of how he knew her in the past and lost her? Perhaps in future books Tanya will revisit this revelation? Editors have kind of dropped the ball on story flow.

A history of reality in a Cosy

Sadly I suspect there is truth within the story. Mines in miners of Kentucky had a challenging life. This was a great story of romance love and friendship but it also showed courage fortitude bravery and heart

I enjoyed the story line

I loved many things about this series..
I liked the building of characters, the descriptions of there surroundings in Kentucky and all there goofy relationships.
I appreciated that they used the same narrator, since the southern inflictions stay consistent. I had not read this author or heard this narrator before so I will keep my eyes out for more books with them.

Reliable simple entertainment

As always, it’s great to hear positive stories that include supportive women and their ability to solve a murder or mystery. It’s like a little comfort wrapped in a cozy camp trailer with friends.

inconsistency with a story

the only thing I didn't care for is that the story changed along the way. At first she had three siblings, this book she only had two. earlier she didn't care for the pharmacist guy, this book she dated him. in other books she got the first car from the church then it said she got it from the garage. if you're going to write a book keep all the books with the same story lines

Less than average cost mystery series

I’ve listened to all of these. The fact that they are “less than average” made them perfect for what I needed - background noise while working and completing tasks around the house. LOTS of filler - especially if you listen to them consecutively. AND, if I hear “Daniel Boone National Forest” ONE MORE TIME…would make a great drinking or auto sit-ups or push-ups game. The author uses this term/phrase so often and so unnecessarily, I almost took the time to look up and see if she was being paid to advertise this specific forest. So - probably not worth credits unless you need some white noise.
