Publisher's summary

Comedy superstar Mike Myers writes from the (true patriot) heart about his 53-year relationship with his beloved Canada. Mike Myers is a world-renowned actor, director and writer and the man behind some of the most memorable comic characters of our time. But, as he says, "No description of me is truly complete without saying I'm a Canadian". He has often winked and nodded to Canada in his outrageously accomplished body of work, but now he turns the spotlight full-beam on his homeland.

His hilarious and heartfelt new book is part memoir, part history, and pure entertainment. It is Mike Myers' funny and thoughtful analysis of what makes Canada Canada and Canadians Canadians and what being Canadian has always meant to him. His relationship with his home and native land continues to deepen and grow, he says. In fact American friends have actually accused him of enjoying being Canadian - and he's happy to plead guilty as charged.

A true patriot who happens to be an expatriate, Myers is in a unique position to explore Canada from within and without. With this, his first book, Mike brings his love for Canada to the fore at a time when the country is once again looking ahead with hope and national pride. Canada is a wholly subjective account of Mike's Canadian experience. Mike writes, "Some might say, 'Why didn't you include this or that?' I say there are 35 million stories waiting to be told in this country, and my book is only one of them."

Awesome book by my favorite comedian

Mike Myers offers a great history lesson about Canada and as an American I didn't know a lot about Canadians or their history but now I do thanks to this book.

Love it more without the politics

I enjoyed listening to Mike Myers read his own book. I found his recollection of his childhood and growing up in Toronto compelling. I would rather hear more of his personal experience rather than the political commentary. Great for a sale or daily deal but I would have regretted using a credit on it.

Enjoyable celebrity love story

I lived in Canada from 1974-1981 soam familiar with much of the time period focused on. i also look back fondly at those times.
Much of the time in my head i was thinking that this does not compute. Mike Meyers loves Canada and especially the progressive polices adapted.
I missed Canada for decades after i left, returning often to visit family and friends. I finally had to realize that i live in the USA and let Canada go. Legal marijuana, assisted suicide, and socialized medicine are not black and white issues.

Enjoyed very much

Part autobiography, part history lesson, part comedy, part philosophy, and fully a great read/listen. I enjoyed Myers performance enough that I’d recommend the audiobook over the printed book.

Myers does a great job keeping your interestb about our neighbors to the north. His love for Canada is very evident and his passion oozes from his narration.

Mike Myers - Good Man

The book is autobiographical but also gives a view of Canada’s history and culture. It didn’t go as expected. It was better. When I was done, the experience led me to reflect on my thoughts and feelings to my country’s northern neighbor. Bottom line, I was entertained and I learned a lot.
