Keep P.L. Gertner on your list of fun books

I must say I have really fallen in love with P L Gertner's people. Her characters are a lot like people you would like for friends to go have lunch or just a cup of coffee with. They seem so normal that when odd things happen it feels like it really could happen.
This is a breath of fresh air in a literary world where all characters are so "flawed" (to make then interesting?) that you really don't like them at all. I liked a lot of the characters in Canvas for Murder.
Danielle Bryn does a decent job of bringing life to the characters. I am a huge fan of narrators and believe they deserve more credit than they are usually given.

Enjoyable art heist!

Ellie is retired from her career as a DA and is now happily working as a proprietor of an art studio and gallery. She is dating the FBI agent of her dreams and has developed many friendships in town. When she finds one of those friends on the street barely clinging to life she makes it her mission to learn why he was attacked. Murder, art theives, and Interpol all descend upon her small town life. It was a new narrator but she did fine after I adjusted Cord in my head. I love the series and cant wait for the next!
