About this listen

Ripped from her own time and cast back to 1920s London, Roseanna Chapman finds herself in an unforgiving, gothic prison.

Crime: murder.

Punishment: death by hanging.

Roseanna must overcome the brutality of her incarceration, build new allies, grapple with old ones, and risk all that she has to save not only her own life but that of the man she loves.

Meanwhile, her love, gang leader and businessman Daniel Alderman, believes Roseanna is safe in the 21st century, caring for her sick grandmother and preparing to return to him. When he finds out where she is, he will move heaven and earth to save her.

Roseanna will learn that family goes beyond blood, while Danny discovers that friendship is more valuable than currency.

Can the two fated lovers find their way back to one another, or will time and circumstance destroy everything they hold dear?

Good, BUT…

So I loved this book overall and I really enjoyed Tom Dalton. But ….*SPOILERS*
I hated that Roseanna was in prison for the majority of the book. I know I know it’s called Captive Songbird BUT it’s also classified as a historical romance. They weren’t even together for 80% of the book. The last bit of the book was amazing. I love Danny and the love he has for her but I was hoping for more. I’m still giving it five stars because it was a fantastic book despite not having as much romance. That’s my preference. I just loved Danny and want a whole book of him. LOL

I ❤️ time travel

I love the story and the characters, the only thing I would have liked is that Rosanna is an aristocrat and that she had a litter bit more of an upper crust accent rather than the mild cockney.

Better than the first one!

I devoured this book! I absolutely loved the storyline. Roseanna is on another quest, and she is able to wrap up some of those loose ends that have been niggling at her for a very long time. Danny is on a different kind of quest, while waiting to see When or if Roseanna will return to him; he concentrates on the family’s needs.

I can’t wait to see what will be in store for their eternal love next!
