Publisher's summary

My name is Drood, Eddie Drood, aka Shaman Bond. For generations my family has protected you ordinary mortals against things that lurk in the darkness, just out of sight, but not at all out of mind. Unfortunately, I’ve had a falling out with my near and dear (some of whom were trying to kill me), so my true love - and powerful witch - Molly Metcalf and I are now in the employ of The Department of the Uncanny. We’ve been given an Extremely Important Assignment: attend Casino Infernale, an annual event held by the Shadow Bank, financiers of all global supernatural crime. Our mission: rig the game and bring down the Shadow Bank. But at Casino Infernale, the stakes are high indeed - winner takes all and losers give up their souls….

Eddie and Molly are deep in it again

What did you love best about Casino Infernale?

I liked the storyline that kept me interested and hard to stop listening

What other book might you compare Casino Infernale to and why?

I like the Drood family and all the problems they cross. Nightside is close but this is more in our world

Which character – as performed by Gideon Emery – was your favorite?

Mr Emery is a first class reader and he does a great job on all his characters but both Eddie and Molly a credit to his craft

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I did both, it was a great storyline and I enjoyed both the highs and lows.

Any additional comments?

Look forward to the next in the series and PLEASE don't stopp writting

True power of Drood

I’m really glad we get an adventure that almost entirely relies on the Shamon Bond cover rather that the miraculous armor

Can Eddie and Molly "Break the Bank"?

Eddie Drood is at it again! No longer acting as just an agent of the Drood family, Eddie and his better half Molly Metcalf. (the Wild Witch of the Woods) are now working for the Regeant of Shadows (Eddie's long thought deceased grandfather) at the Department of the Uncanny. His and Molly's first mission with the department? Infiltrate the games at Casino Infernale, win big at any cost, and bring down the Shadow bank. Just another case for the infamous Edfie and Molly, right? Except that Edfie has to do the unthinkable - give up his android family Torc, the source of his Strange Matter army, for the duration of the mission to bypass the Casino Security! Promising yo give it back when the mission is over, Eddie's Forc is removed by the Armorer and the incarnation of the Strange matter Ethyl. Now stripped of his seemingly limitless Drood power and reduced to the identity he uses in the everyday spy world, Shaman Bond, Effddir and Molly are off to France to break the bank at Casino Infernale. If Eddie can survive the mission and return to Drood manner, he will be given his Torc and his Strange Matter armor back. But surviving the Casino as just a normal human may be more than Eddie (Shaman) can handle! This is the 7th book in Simon R. Green's "The Secret Histories" about the Drood family-the secret family that has dedicated its existence to standing between the world at large and the Supernatural Powers and Domination that threaten it daily!

Nice change for Eddie

It was interesting to see how well Eddie functions without his wonderful armor. I enjoyed the book alot. It was good case for Eddie to figure out he is more than his armor and to understand that there isnt a difference between himself and Shaman Bond his cover. I cant wait to see the next installment in the series as I hope we can finally get the answer to what happened to Molly's parents. It seems that could be a truly climatic story if it comes next!
