About this listen

It's time to take back our country. Barack Obama and the Democrats are:

  • Canceling the war on terror...and replacing it with a war on prosperity.
  • Taking away your health care options...and replacing them with government rationing.
  • Taking control of the banks, Detroit, and your money...and converting them all into government assets.

We're not just heading for disaster - it's already here! Listen to Catastrophe today and find out how to stop it.

Dick Morris and Eileen McGann take a hard look at America in freefall - and at now-President Obama, who is already exploiting our distress by transforming a vulnerable America into a socialist state. "This is no time for apathy or alienation or hopelessness," Morris and McGann remind us. "It's a time for action." And that action must begin now - before it's too late.

    Editorial reviews

Dick Morris experienced a profound ideological shift from his days advising Bill Clinton's gubernatorial and presidential campaigns to the present, when he serves as one of the Democratic Party's staunchest critics. In Catastrophe (2009), written with his wife Eileen McGann, Morris does not mince words in describing how President Barack Obama's "radical agenda" is inevitably going to lead to disaster for America by turning the country into a "socialist" state.

Peter Ganim has narrated over 150 audiobooks in just about every genre, and in Catastrophe he lends his well-modulated, seasoned voice to this political screed. Though Morris and McGann term their message "urgent" and call their first chapter "Take Back Our Country", the audiobook benefits from Ganim's moderate, rather than red-faced, vocal performance.

    Must reading for every American

Morris and McGann give us a thorough, well-researched book about the key strategic pillars of President Obama's agenda for our America and is essential reading for everyone, regardless of your party affiliation (or not)! A sweeping historical review of key legislative issues and why the new President's policies are destined for failure. Using facts and historical research, the authors provide compelling evidence for analysis and action steps to respond to this clear assault on our liberties. You cannot consider yourself "well informed" if you haven't read this book!

OK, but a bit over done.

I did not know who Dick Morris was before selecting this book. The book is a little overdone. I do not think the end is near. Good data, not really any new advice, too much hype. No new action items or advice. More like a "2 minute hate" from 1984. A little too much www.dickmorris.com for me but maybe that is his style. Listen to the book and think for yourself.

    One sided book

I like Dick Morris, agree with many things he has said in the past. I'm half way through this book and find it disappointing. He spends all his time blaming the Democrats and Obama. So far there isn't one mention of any fault with Bush and the Republicans. I don't disagree with his points about what the Democrats are doing, but the blame falls on BOTH parties.
If you're a Republican who only wants to hear one side, this is the book for you. If you want a balanced view, find another book.
