About this listen

Asher Mallone just wanted to do his time and retire.

He and his family had plans. Unfortunately for him, the Teledyne Corporation had its own ideas, and they didn't track with Mallone's.

The more he did and the better he became at his job, the more important tasks Teledyne assigned him, ultimately culminating in the creation of a force of corporate espionage specialists better than any other—past, present, or future. Retirement could wait a little longer.

There are forces both inside Teledyne and out who are bent on controlling everything and everyone in the world… no matter the cost. Asher and his Specialists stand between the Corporate masters and everything they want.

Started out slow!!

I really love the book as the story progressed, it did start out very slow in the beginning but every story does. My only gripe is what is up with the cliff hangers all of a sudden. The last 2 books were cliffhangers and I really don’t like cliffhangers, the first 3/4 of the series were complete stories but definitely left it open for a part 2. These cliffhangers really put a sour taste in my mouth cause with only a few books left in the set it’s already 3 stories that really needs closing. Specialist Aster and the police, Princess and Scott, and now this one all needs part 2. The wait is killing me please continue these stories.

Fantastic!

Truly enjoy the books in the series that return to the beginnings of The Fallen World. Kinda short but hoping it will hold me over until the next release!
Would be great if father and son would be reunited in a future book.

Critical Backstory

Being a big fan of the Fallen World series, I found this story an extremely helpful explanation of many details leading up to The Fall.

Every time I thought, "geez, why am I listening to this, I should quit." The author managed to reel me back in.

The characters were relatable and consistent. The narrator solid.

I fervently hope the other authors in the storyline also come up with other backstory books along the various Corporations.

And naturally, the author left just enough "cliffhanger" to expand upon (or not)

Good series

It’s a good series with interesting take on future. It’s kinda all over the place. Gets a bit convoluted with so many different story’s from different times & places. Staring to wonder if it’s ever gonna tie together or just be a bunch of good stand alone books

Feels like half a book

Way too short. Story doesn’t really end. If you’re going to be that obvious about wanting a sequel, at least put enough content in to get it over the 10hr mark.

It is a neat prequel.
And it was kind of neat to have a fallen world book without the words “fallen world” being uttered constantly
