About this listen

On the heels of losing her fiancé, Kendra Cavelli doesn't want another partner, especially not one as sinfully handsome as Detective Matt Abilene.

She has enough troubles with her family's latest secret, which calls her whole identity into question. Is she a Cavelli or a Cavanaugh? But she can't ignore the man looking over her shoulder during a grizzly crime scene or how he makes her feel. As she and Matt work to solve a baffling homicide, Kendra learns the self-confessed loner is as commitment-wary as she. And these two wrongs make for a sizzling attraction that feels oh-so right.

Good book, bad narrator

I would have had a better time if I had read the book myself. The narrator ruined it. No change in character voices, no inflections, no emotion. She just read the book. Made it very hard to get immersed in the story.

Narrator Ruins Another

Narrator was awful. Voices all the same, no change between male and female characters. Sometimes I had no idea who was speaking, the story was just read which ruined it. Tale was mediocre at best. Both characters are dectectives, who are assigned to each due to the retirement and move to another locale of their former partners respectively. Some mild action, and then bedroom scenes. Finally, they solve a case and story ends. They are in the throes of making a committment to each other.
