About this listen

Erich von Däniken's Chariots of the Gods is a work of monumental importance---the first book to introduce the shocking theory that ancient Earth was visited by aliens. This world-famous best seller has withstood the test of time, inspiring countless books and films, including the author's own popular sequel, The Eye of the Sphinx. But here is where it all began---von Däniken's startling theories of our earliest encounters with alien worlds, based upon his lifelong studies of ancient ruins, lost cities, potential spaceports, and a myriad of hard scientific facts that point to extraterrestrial intervention in human history. Most incredible of all, however, is von Däniken's theory that we ourselves are the descendents of these galactic pioneers---and the archaeological discoveries that prove it:

  • An alien astronaut preserved in a pyramid
  • Thousand-year-old spaceflight navigation charts
  • Computer astronomy from Incan and Egyptian ruins
  • A map of the land beneath the ice cap of Antarctica
  • A giant spaceport preserved in the Andes

This book gets you to think about Alien beings visiting the Earth. I really enjoyed the questions that he made throughout the book. If you keep an open mind when listening to this book, you might just believe that Alien did visit the Earth.

Could have been a bit more uplifting with a different pace narrator. Get Neil de gras Tyson....

Narrator a bit less than thrilling for the subject

To think we are the only ones in this universe is just plain stupid. The ideas the book generates are welcome and well thought out. Makes you wonder why we are not putting more effort in exploring. Instead lets just blow up the world we live in now that's crazy

Excellent

Keep an open mind. Many instances of fantastic happenings that are not sufficiently explained by modern-day science. who knows what really happened in the past but there is much here that does not meet the eye.

Much food for thought.

It was plausible theory on our origins of our existence. It was a quick interesting read. I enjoyed researching online the ruins mentioned in the book as evidence of extraterrestrial life that visited and helped cultivate our civilization.
