Publisher's summary

By his mid-20s.…

Chase had built a dream life.

Why was he mentally beaten down?

As a superstar trader at his elite Dallas wealth management firm, Chase decided he was ready to cash out, so he sold his client base. There was just one catch. To close the deal, he had to agree to a three-year contract overseeing the transition.

That’s when things went south.

After a year, he couldn’t stand it.

But he was trapped.

Chase needed to escape The Firm. There was just one problem, they would want most of the money they paid him back. With his mental state in tatters, he makes the only move he can see.

With the money he had left....

…He fled to a tropical island.

That’s where he met Kane, a mysterious island native.

You’ll adore this psychological thriller, because Nate Wilson takes you on an adventure with scuba diving, lost ships, and an ending you won’t see coming.

Love Nick Sullivan! Enjoyed the book

I love Nick Sullivan‘s voice is annunciation and expression while he reads his stories. This story had a lot of interesting elements that made me wonder if it was in the characters mind, or if it was real. Definitely different than most of the diving and sailing in the Caribbean books that I so enjoy. Definitely worth a listen to and Looking forward to the next one. Please Nick Sullivan narrate it!

Thought-provoking life crisis

Chase Bryson could easily be the finance bro next door, working as a trader for those willing to entrust their money to him. He’s made millions of dollars selling the client portfolio he’s built to The Firm. As is industry standard in transactions such as this, Chase has agreed to stay on for three years after the sale to ensure his client base remains intact and transfers seamlessly to its new owner. Yet, The Firm is slowly sucking the soul out of him. Finally, he can’t take it anymore and he resigns, just one year into the three-year transfer period. As things go south in his life with The Firm in Dallas, Chase plans a trip further South to escape it all.

Nate Wilson shows readers the glamourous life of the wealthy elite, the parties, the people, and the money. Yet Wilson also unabashedly gives readers a peak around the curtain at the psychological, soul sucking, hard to swallow moments of corporate trading and its ethical boundaries. Wrapped within this tropical escape, full of shipwreck dives, scuba adventures, drug fueled parties, and mysterious friendships is a deeper lesson, a profound reality, and a multifaceted look at a lost man.

“Chasing Kane” is a riveting sea escape, a thought-provoking life crisis, and a crucial reminder. Wilson’s fictional Kane brings us new experiences, but at what cost? Can we really outrun our problems? Chase and his new island friend, Kane, show readers island culture and its beauty, escaping to new adventures, as problems back home still seem to find him.
