About this listen

EVIE

Prince Charming comes in purple!

I’ve been looking for my Prince Charming my entire life. When ravenous, human-eating bugs descend from the skies, I think my dream is doomed—until a musclebound Xarc’n hunter rescues me from certain death. Tarv’k is strong and brave, and the purring in his chest turns my knees to jelly.

Too bad he’s pretending not to be interested. I might be small and soft-spoken, but I’m also stubborn; I get what I want. He won’t know what hit him!

TARV’K

Evie is everything I ever wanted, but I don’t deserve her. She is the ray of sunshine that keeps our compound going. She deserves a younger hunter, one with fewer failures in his past. But despite my best intentions, I cannot let her go. If I cannot claim her, then I vow to be her ultimate protector.

When Evie’s past returns to haunt her, I am determined to keep her safe. No one messes with my female! We may not have a mating bond yet, but she is still mine!

Evie and Tarv’k’s story is a complete romance with a happily ever after, but should be listened to as part of a series.

Another fun story!

Loving the series and both narrators. Although sometimes the female narrator mispronounces a word in a funny way. Lol

Sometimes what you need is what you’re fighting against.

I really liked this story of love between an unlikely couple. It was entertaining and enjoyable although it touched on abuse and captivity. The characters were interesting and likable for the most part. I wanted the group from the South to get their comeuppance but I was satisfied (for the most part) with the comeuppance that a couple of characters received. Evie (Evelyn) was the youngest woman at the human and hunter compound. Tarv’k was the oldest warrior at the same compound. Evie had her heart set on Tarv’k as the hunter for her. After she made a move that was rejected she was upset but trying to decide what to do next. Evie had already confronted her Uncle Shawn and his friend Benson about them trying to make decisions for her so she wasn’t going to let Tarv’k get away with it either. Little did she know but Tarv’k was fighting himself and his feelings for her. Everyone around them seemed to think that they were meant for each other. Once Tarv’k got onboard, things developed nicely. I loved their happily ever after although I would have liked an epilogue further out. I recommend reading this book.

Or you could listen to the audiobook, if you would rather do that. The narrators did a wonderful job of bringing the characters to life as well as breathing life into the story. I recommend listening to this audiobook.

Okay

After listening to the series so far Keira”s voice is sounding too young for some of the female characters. Troy’s deep sexy voice is what keeps me listening. The storyline of each book is too similar; need to veer off the beaten path a bit to keep it interesting.

I need more.

I Need both Narrators to finish reading the rest of the books of the series because it sucks reading books 5 through 8 on your own because you don't have the narration from Both narrators so I need that to happen Troy Duran is always and forever amazing.

Worth The Wait

I adore Tarv’k & Evie’s story so much. You’re never too old to fall in love, with or without a mate-bond, but Evie has to pull out all the stops to convince Tarv’k of that very fact. Just when it seems she might be getting somewhere, her past shows back up with a vengeance. Will they be able to find their HEA together, or is it too little too late? Listen to this wonderfully narrated audiobook to find out….seriously, I could listen to Troy Duran talk for hours 🥰

May-December alien romance!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙
Romance: 💚🖤💙❤️
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏🌎
Character development: ☹️😳🥺😘

The heroine: Evie - Evie came to the compound where the Xarc’n hunters, their mates and a few other humans helping with the fight against the Scourge with her uncle and his friend. Those two males were not good men. They hated the Xarc’n warriors and especially the relationships between Xarc’n and humans. When Evie finally stood up to them, they stole weapons and betrayed everyone by turning on a beacon in the compound to draw the scourge.

The Hero: Tarv’k - He is the oldest of the Xarc’n hunters. Though he hardly looked any older than the others, he did have a few grey hairs. Unlike most of the other hunters who had fought the scourge on one or two worlds before coming to Earth, Tarv’k has fought the alien insect menace on many different worlds and failed most of those times.

The Story: Evie had been attracted to Tarv’k from the start, and though he was also attracted to her, he held back. He thought he might be too old to form a mate bond with a human female. Though when Evie threatened to find one with another Xarc’n warrior, he realized that he didn’t want to see her with someone else.

The book is told in dual points of view via dual narration. Narration was done by Troy Duran and Kiera Stevens. I really like both of these narrators. Troy Duran has a deep husky voice which sounds great for the 7 foot tall, muscular alien males and Kiera Stevens has a very pleasing voice and is good at showing emotion through her voice.

I am really enjoying this dystopian view of Earth after being invaded by huge mindless alien insects. The Xarc’n warriors are a great diversion from the standard alien barbarians. I still don’t understand why they only wear a loincloth, since they are technologically advanced and though they are warriors, they are definitely not barbarians.
