Neil Dudgeon
This compilation contains episodes 10 - 12:
- A Deadly Confession,
- Blade in the Water,
- Death on a Summer Night.
Here local priest Father Byrne meets his unexpected demise. Jack and Sarah investigate - who could harm the beloved Father? And what secrets did he take to the grave? The Cherringham Regatta is shaken when vandalism of boots turns into bloody murder. And when a murder suspect is freed from prison after 25 years, it's apparent someone in Cherringham wants him to continue serving his sentence - to death. But Jack and Sarah start to question... did he commit the crime in the first place?
Cherringham is a series à la Charles Dickens, with a new mystery thriller released each month. Set in the sleepy English village of Cherringham, the detective series brings together an unlikely sleuthing duo: English web designer Sarah and American ex-cop Jack. Thrilling and deadly - but with a spot of tea - it's like Rosamunde Pilcher meets Inspector Barnaby. Each of the self-contained episodes is a quick listen for the morning commute, while waiting for the doctor, or when curling up with a hot cuppa. For fans of Agatha Christie's "Miss Marple series", Lilian Jackson Braun's "The Cat Who series", Caroline Graham's "Midsomer Murders", and the American TV series "Murder She Wrote", starring Angela Lansbury.
Co-authors Neil Richards (based in the UK) and Matthew Costello (based in the US), have been writing together since the mid 90's, creating content and working on projects for the BBC, Disney Channel, Sony, ABC, Eidos, and Nintendo to name but a few. Their transatlantic collaboration has underpinned scores of TV drama scripts, computer games, radio shows, and - most recently - the successful crime fiction series Cherringham.
The narrator of the audiobook, Neil Dudgeon, has been in many British television programmes including the roles of "DCI John Barnaby" in "Midsomer Murders" and "Jim Riley" in "The Life of Riley".©2017 Bastei Lübbe (P)2017 Lübbe Audio

Would you consider the audio edition of Cherringham - A Cosy Crime Series Compilation (Cherringham 10 - 12) to be better than the print version?
I haven't read the print versionWhat other book might you compare Cherringham - A Cosy Crime Series Compilation (Cherringham 10 - 12) to and why?
Cherringham 1 - 3, 4 - 6, and 7 - 9. This is a fantastic series and the narration is very well done, top notch.Have you listened to any of Neil Dudgeon’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Over time I have seen Mr. Dudgeon act in a few things, The most recent was Midsomer Murder. I have enjoyed his performance in everything that I've seen him in including his role as chauffeur to Diana Rigg in the Mrs. Bradley Mystery series. Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
If I could have I would have listened non-stop but at the same time I like to listen a piece at a time so as to savor it longer.Any additional comments?
Looking forward to the next in the series.Cherringham series

A DEADLY CONFESSION
Okay, I have very little to say about this one. It was about a priest who was a thief, a womanizer, a gambler, an embezzler, and caused a woman to commit suicide, so he got what he deserved. I was, however, surprised at who the killer was.
BLADE IN THE WATER
So, this was about Martin Kent, who disappeared from his yacht and there was blood found on-board so everyone thinks he’s been murdered. It’s up to Jack and Sarah to figure out what really happened. There was a Regatta and Skull races and parties on all the boats and barrages. It was a lot of fun this time.
DEATH ON A SUMMER NIGHT
This was about a murder that was committed 25 years ago and a town and the law rushing to judgement and sending the wrong man to jail. That was very sad.
BUT Jack and Sarah made it right. Tim had come back to Cherringham after he paid his 25 years and the town wasn’t real crazy about having him back. They made his life miserable, even setting his house on fire.
There’s no romance in any of these books and no swearing.
As to the narration: Love, love, love Neil Dudgeon. He’s totally awesome so don’t pay any attention to the five 1 & 2 star reviews. ND’s reading is simply wonderful. His voices are incredible, as is his emotions when he reads.
Perfect stories and a perfect narrator..
