Publisher's summary

Long ago, the great wizard Merlin planted the seed that would become the peaceful world of Avalon. Now, though, Avalon is suffering from mysterious droughts. And when the very stars begin to lose their light, it seems that the Lady of the Lake's dire predictions are about to come true. The fate of Avalon now rests with three young people: Tamwyn, a wandering wilderness guide; Elli, an apprentice priestess; and Scree, a young eagle man. One of them is the true heir of Merlin, the only person who can save Avalon, and one of them is the dreaded child of the Dark Prophecy, fated to destroy it.

All eleven books

Your books are fantastic please put all eleven books in audible. I have read all but truly enjoy them in audible. Plus batty lad needs his full debut in spoken story. Suggestion if you did a TV series after or instead of the movie you could show each book, even if it was a cartoon. I think if it was shown like power ranger it would sell quickly.

Start of a thrilling series

"The Great Tree of Avalon: Child of the Dark Prophecy" is the first book in the new series by T.A. Barron. Avalon is literally a tree, planted by the wizard Merlin, and people live in the seven lands comprised of its roots. The story starts with a prophecy, babies, and flight from danger, capturing the reader's imagination right from the start.

The gist of the book is that the fate of Avalon now rests with three young people: one of whom is the true heir of Merlin, the only person who can save Avalon, and one of whom is the dreaded child of the Dark Prophecy, the person fated to destroy it.

You have a magical world, interesting characters, and a plot that keeps the reader guessing every bit as much as the characters. All in all, it's a very entertaining read.

Amazing book by an amazing author!!

If you could sum up Child of the Dark Prophecy in three words, what would they be?

Amazing, captivating, and well-done

What was one of the most memorable moments of Child of the Dark Prophecy?

The entire book is filled with memorable moments. It is one of my favorite series.

Any additional comments?

The Child of the Dark Prophecy is a shoot off series from T. A. Barron's Lost Years of Merlin. The Child of the Dark Prophecy is a great story and explains the existence of the worlds very well. I personally think anyone interested in reading this series should first begin with the Lost Years of Merlin. There are so many plot point in the series that connected to the Lost Years of Merlin. But if you don't want to get caught up in a long series (though I can't imagine why you wouldn't) this series is great on its own. There isn't a dull moment through the hole series; the story is original and all the characters are interesting and very relatable. Barron is a master of dynamic plots and descriptive settings. As you read you can clearly imagine everything being described. But his descriptions aren't so long to get to the point where he is long winded and you wish the story would just end. All in all this is an amazing series and I recommend it to anyone who loves adventures and fantasy work.

I love the Merlin series by T.A. Barron and always recommend them to anyone I can. The author does an excellent job capturing the characters emotions and swaying your emotions.

This book is horrible!

Maybe I'm too old for this book, but I do enjoy good science fiction and fantasy writing. If you haven't already listened to Eragon or the Bartimaeus Trilogy I strongly urge you to check those out and not waste your time with this book. The writing is amateurish and the reading made me roll my eyes. With Dan Brown, every character "stops short". With T.A. Barron every character's "eyes flashed". Please, unless you're 10 years old or younger.. STAY AWAY.
