About this listen

The 13 chapters of The Art of War, each devoted to one aspect of warfare, were compiled by the high-ranking Chinese military general, strategist, and philosopher Sun-Tzu. In spite of its battlefield specificity, The Art of War has found new life in the modern age, with leaders in fields as wide and far-reaching as world politics, human psychology, and corporate strategy finding valuable insight in its timeworn words.

Aidan Gillen - who has learned a thing or two about strategy through his roles as skilled manipulator Petyr "Littlefinger" Baelish (Game of Thrones) and ambitious politician Tommy Carcetti (The Wire) - brilliantly performs this ancient classic. His experience in portraying insightful and, at times, cunning characters makes him a natural fit for this ancient collection of battlefield epigrams whose influence has grown tremendously in the modern world.

These musings can be applied to practical problems as well as more theoretical reflection.

Good Book

I've bought this book and had this book on my to read list for well over 5 years. Just got an audible account so I could go through books faster and being that they had this book included in the membership, I added it to my library.

The timeline for the read of this book is short and matches up with my actual printed book. It's a small book, yet the message, recommendations, and strategies throughout are sound. Good read!

Aidan Gillen performs superbly as audio narrator

Loved it! Great combination of Historical Literature and the Game of Thrones universe. Aidan Gillen lends his recognizable voice as Littlefinger from the show, and brings new life into the performance of the Art of War.

Timeless classic

I've read the book before but never listened to it spoken. The performance was exceptional and his voice complemented the text beautifully. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
