About this listen
This set features two audiobooks from the Chloe Cook Cozy Mystery series.
Deadly Resentment
Chloe Cook is back with another case to crack! Murder once again strikes the scenic beachside town of Cape Cod. This time, the victim is an arrogant former actor who has a bad habit of making of enemies. Unfortunately, the local police detective suspects that Chloe's old friend Paige O'Doul is the killer. To prove Paige's innocence, Chloe has to take matters into her own hands and find the real killer herself.
Killer Finale
When a loudmouthed, egotistical comedy-club owner is found dead, Chloe's once-sleepy hometown of Cape Cod is rocked to the core. Even worse, the police think one of Chloe's best friends is the killer. Convinced that her friend has been framed, the feisty, pie-loving cosmetics saleswoman is left with no choice but to take matters into her own hands to find the real killer herself.

Across the bottom of the screen the ticker tape announced in large black letters 'Governor Reynolds Murdered'. Apparently his body had been discovered earlier that morning, lying in his garage. He had been shot twice. One shot to the upper chest, the other hitting his shoulder. 'Police believe that the weapon used was a 38 revolver,' the reporter said. Kendall froze. Anthony Shaw had also been killed by a 38 calibre bullet. Kendall was not quite sure of what it all meant. What connection was there between Anthony Shaw, and the State Governor, and the business mogul, Ian Duncan. And what about Senator Mackenzie? Where did he fit in? And who or what was Latimer?

Enjoyable listen
Chloe feels compelled to solve a couple of murders in order to help clear her friends of suspicion. With her dog often at her side, she traverses her small town looking for clues and interviewing suspects. Kayla Michelle has a great character with Chloe and the stories are fun and quick.
Renee Dorian Begley does a great job with the narration. Overall, a great listen.

Life In the Entertainment Industry Can be a Killer
In each of these cozy mysteries, an amateur sleuth must solve murders where people she knows are the suspects. The first involves a traveling murder mystery play, the second a comedy club Both are well written with engaging characters and well conceived plots with some interesting twists and turns.
At a little over 2 hours each, they fit nicely into a couple of lazy afternoons and I found them entertaining and engaging listening.

Chloe Cook Mystery Bundle
This is a fun Cozy Mystery Bundle. The stories are short and sweet. The approach that both stories have where the police drag everyone that may be a suspect to trample the murder scene and witness the dead body was a bit strange to me. Of course this is where Chloe picks up a lot of her information so for the series it works well. The lead detective is a jerk which they usually are, but sometimes turn nice in later books. Something about the second book made it a bit more dramatic and fun. Perhaps it was the nasty club owner that no one liked. The narration was very nice and easy to listen to. I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.

Two Chloe Cook Cozy Mysteries
I had previously listened to each of these book individually... now the two book box set is available.
Each cozy mystery is fun and easy to listen to... In each book, Chloe helps to solve a murder where a friend ends up being the prime suspect. A twist here, a turn there, and a little misdirection, but in the end, the cases are solved.

Enjoyable
Deadly Resentment (Chloe Cook #2), my second read/listen from author Kayla Michelle, although I own several of her books I’d never gotten around to reading one until I read Mattress Mart Murder.
Killer Finale (Chloe Cook #3), my third read/listen from author Kayla Michelle, Anothercute, well-written clean cozy mystery. Narrator Renee Dorian Begley's vocal talents added to the enjoyment. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Cute Mysteries and a Corgi
If you enjoy cozy mysteries and dogs these books are a nice choice.
I prefered the second novel to the first. If you have kids I would not recommed listening to the first book with your children due to affairs and a little more adult content (although, it is not graphic.) I would just leave that up to the parent. The second story kind of reminds me of the Nancy Drew movie with Emma Roberts and acting etc.
If you like quick (about 2.5 hours each) and cute mysteries this is a good fit. Reminds me of some of the Hallmark movies and mysteries. Not super graphic but still exciting.
I really like the narrators voice. She talks fast (even for me.) Which I did like. I was not put to sleep.

A nice break from gruesome murder mysteries. If you liked 'Murder She Wrote' you'll like this series. Totally unbelievable but fun. Chloe always finds the clues that the police miss. She always ends with dessert. I was gifted this from the author.
