Publisher's summary

In Citizen K-9, best-selling author David Rosenfelt masterfully blends mystery with dogs and humor to create an investigative team that listeners will be rooting for book after book.

The Paterson Police Department has created a cold case division, and they want to hire the private investigators known as the K Team to look into the crimes. After all, Corey Douglas and his K-9 partner, German shepherd Simon Garfunkel, recently retired from the force. Plus, another K Team member, Laurie Collins, used to be a cop as well.

Their first cold case hits home for the K Team. A decade ago, at Laurie's 10th high school reunion, two of their friends simply…vanished. At the time Laurie had just left the force, and Corey was in a different department, so they had no choice but to watch from the sidelines. With no leads, the case went cold.

As the team starts to delve deeper into the events leading up to that night - reopening old wounds along the way - the pieces start to come together. But someone wants to stop them from uncovering the truth behind the disappearance, by any means necessary.

Great book

Loved the book. Not gory. Right amount of suspense. Liked the characters and the way they worked with each other

I really enjoy David Rosenflet's books-- The K team is a spin off from the Andy Carpenter series.
fun and entertaining with a mystery thrown in.

Simon Garfunkel is my favorite cop!

ex-cop, family, cold-case, friendship, law-enforcement, lawyers, disappearance, multiple-murder, murder-investigation, private-investigators, retired K-9, snark-fest, sly-humor*****

The thing about Rosenfelt's books is that the stories themselves could be true crime with an unlikely (but astute lawyer) but are presented as clear fiction because of the sly humor which makes them fun instead of horror.
The publisher's blurb is a great hook, but the incredible due diligence carries the day with a lot of snarkiness. It really doesn't matter if you've read any of the Andy Carpenter books, this stands alone as a winner! Corey Douglas and his K-9 partner, Simon Garfunkel, have recently retired from the police force only to join up with a former colleague, the ex-cop wife (Laurie) of early retired lawyer Andy Carpenter. Excellent read with the most amazing twists!
Fred Berman narrates this fast-paced snark fest full of very interesting characters very well indeed!

Great story with twists and turns.

I really enjoyed this book. I knew many of the characters from the Andy Carpenter series. Love how they incorporate dogs into the storyline and love the sly humor.

This series keeps getting better

The main character in this series has grown on me. I am a devoted fan of the author’s Andy Carpenter series and originally found this main character Cory a little too much like the standard macho self absorbed leading man in many mysteries. In this book we find a much more likable man.
Cory’s wonderful partner Simon is here as are the various interesting and engaging characters from the Andy Carpenter books and previous K9 stories.
I look forward to more adventures with the K team.

Enjoyed after all

I really was held back a little for a while because I was disappointed that the dogs did not have more to do with the story however by the end I was free or he did go along very well and was enjoyable for the mystery characters are.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE David Rosenfelt!

There is not much which measures up to an Andy Carpenter book, but the K Team has it!
I nearly fell over at “the Marcus revelation.”
I’m DYING to find one of my library patrons with whom I can discuss this book!
Three cheers for the K Team!!!!

More Simon!

This series was ok , but there wasn't enough dog involvement until this last book.
