Publisher's summary

They say fatherhood changes you.

Rade returns his alien client to her secret base on the far side of the galaxy. When the ship arrives, his team finds the base destroyed beyond recognition.

A dark discovery in the ruins leads the team to a new star system. There, Rade's client embarks on an important mission, leaving him and the team behind to guard valuable transportation technology.

But when unexpected circumstances arise and an old enemy makes an appearance, Rade is faced with a gut-wrenching choice.

He learns that it's true what they say: having children changes everything.

Will Rade betray his client, and potentially all of humanity, to save his kids?

Military Sci Fi Action at Its Finest

Argonauts Book 6: City of Phants works wonders, and is quite the ride. Couldn’t imagine a better way to spend my time in the car than listening good Military Sci Fi. The missions that Rade Galaal and his team (Bender, Harly Boy, TJ, Tahoe, Surus, Lui, Fret and the Centurions) go on are great, each one more exciting than the last. Don’t want to spoil things but the ending is fantastic and a great twist. All the character interactions are brought to life expertly by Luke Daniels. There is some kind of magic combination in Isaac Hooke and Luke Daniels, and it’s indefinably synergetic.

To much filthy badgering

Filthy badgering gets very old real fast. I had to end it. Couldn't take it any longer. Clean it up and maybe I'll be able to finish the book because I enjoyed the book otherwise.

Not getting better, more of the same.

I struggled with this one. The author continues to cut corners and fails to develop the main characters. He had the opportunity to add new characters but said bye-bye, and saw no need to add complexity to the cast. I keep wanting to frag Bender. With every annoying, irrelevant, and plot-killing word he emotes, I instinctually reach for the fast-forward button. The narrator is very good. Too bad he doesn't have better material. I enjoyed Expeditionary Force much better. I laughed at Skippy's quips unlike these books.
