Good story

Good story, Rev was young and flawed. He started maturing through his training. Action and adventure. Liked it because he wasn’t a hero who got everything right but learned.

A somewhat rough start, but a great book

I don't know for sure all of the things that I liked about this book, but the camaraderie was a huge plus. The authors captured that in a very good way. They got a lot of things right in this book from a military point of view.
I really liked the premise of the story. It all just kind of makes sense and fits together really well. I rarely found myself questioning why this or that was happening.
The first book in the series sets the stage for the world in a way that makes me want to continue the series. Some books don't do that very well. They leave out important details or leave the story on a cliffhanger. This book does not do that. I know that the series will continue with the main character as a soldier because of what is said in the epilogue (not because there are more books for sale).

Okay..

Decent story but don't expect much action since there's very little of it. The narration was Decent other than you can't really tell when a female character is speaking since they sound like male voices

A Surprise Listen

I was initially hesitant with this purchase, but the book kept me engaged after a somewhat goofy start.

Fun book reminds me of old mans war

I really enjoyed this book. It definitely has some elements from old mans war, specifically the ones around augmentation and government secrecy. I’ve not listened to this narrator before and he was great! I couldn’t help but feel anxious with what led the protagonist to military service. I found myself buying into the story so much that I was extremely angry that a traffic ticket led to enlistment. I can’t help but wonder why they aren’t rioting. Either way, I was immersed and looking forward to the next one. Highly recommended!

Murphy's Law.

Reverend gets a dose of reality. Then finds out what real life is all about. Sort of a coming of age story with very dry humor.

For a traffic violation?

There's a war on and humans are starting to lose to the so-called Centaurs. Earth needs more boots on the ground and the volunteers aren't enough so they have a draft. The bad news about the war is being hidden from the general population. But the draft is a moving intensity. They start drafting the misdemeanors, and then traffic violations. Rev got caught manually driving in a stretch where it states the vehicle should be in control. His punishment is to be drafted for 3 or more years. He chooses to ground fight as a Marine. This is his story of his friends and experiences. Worth listening to.
