This is book 5 in the series. I recommend reading the books in order to get the most of the series. Callum and Elise have united the clans and are off to fight the invading Vikings. Callum proves to be a strong leader. Elise has good fighting skills. This was a good short story. Narrator is good, and pleasant to listen to.

This is a short and quick read and the final installment in the "Clan Macinnes" series. The narrator does a good job bringing the story to life. This is the final story of MacInnes Clan and Elise and Callum. Callum proves his worth as a leader and Elise as a fighter. I really enjoyed the series and like the characters. I really wish all five of these had been in one read/listen. I am not a fan of installments.

Elise and Callum have united the clan and must now go to fight the battle against the invaders. Although Callum proves he is a strong and intelligent leader and Elise is a strong-willed woman with fighting skills, this battle takes a deadly toll. Elise experiences a loss that she could not have foreseen.

Aila Skye, the author, weaves an intense storyline around the historical lives of the MacInnes playing on the emotions of the listener as the characters have become more real with each book. Skye knows how to play the heartstrings and plays them she does! With each installment of the series, Skye maintains the plot, character development and suspense. Although each installment has some closure, it is with plot twists and action that keep the listener engaged.

Once again, John McNee, the narrator, gives an excellent performance. He provides the right balance of emotion helping to build the suspense and the right mood for the listener to become lost within the story.

There were no issues with the production or quality of this audiobook. It was clear and well done.
