Horror Of Dracula

One of the most faithful apdations of dracula. The beginning alone centuries down my spine the voice acting is absolutely wonderful from everybody that my only problem is with Van Helsing he sounds a bit strange.

Worth listening if you’re familiar with the story. Van Hellsing is fantastic!

I have yet to experience the full original book, but this one makes me more interesting in finally doing after hearing multiple audio adaptations of Dracula. Atmosphere and creepy factors are awesome but it is a slow burn to some of them. The cast did a great job. Esp the actor who played Abraham Van Hellsing.

Good Old Fashioned Horror

If you could sum up Classic BBC Radio Horror: Dracula in three words, what would they be?

Traditional Classic Horror

What was one of the most memorable moments of Classic BBC Radio Horror: Dracula?

The destruction of poor Lucy.

Which character – as performed by the narrators – was your favorite?

Dr Van Helsing. Quite theatrical!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No. It chugged along at a good pace. I found the part when the mother is pleading with the vampires for her baby the most disturbing part. Not sure if it's actually in the novel but could have done without it....

Any additional comments?

A classic. Like listening to one of those Hammer House of Horror movies!

I would give it more like 2.5 Stars

I am not sure how I totally feel about this "book". I want to first say this was my first radio broadcast that I have listened to and for me it wasn't what I expected. I love, LOVE, anything with Dracula and I love Bram Stoker's Dracula, but I found this radio broadcast hard to follow. Thankfully I knew the story soI was able to figure the scenes out. Being new to radio broadcast shows I don't know if this the norm of how they work or not hahaha. On the plus side I really enjoyed the voice performers and the music and sound effects as well which made my listening enjoyable.
