About this listen

Two-time Amazon best seller in vampire horror (2015)

Lord Ruthven award nominee (2012)

Hidden deep in the hold of a Russian schooner, a shadowy, ancient predator with an unquenchable bloodlust lies in wait.

In July of 1897, the lives of a valiant sea captain, a clever fugitive, a deceptive cook, and a beautiful stowaway are forever changed while ferrying a mysterious cargo from the unforgiving Black Sea to the misty shores of England. When their month-long voyage on the Demeter takes a sinister turn, the crew’s numbers slowly dwindle, before the derelict schooner eventually careens into port.

A nod to the Bram Stoker’s classic told through the eyes of an ensemble of ill-fated passengers, Dracula’s Demeter is the horrific tale of the vampire king’s unlikely awakening and cryptic sea passage from his homeland to a blood-rich London.

Uncover the mystery of the Demeter’s blood-chilling final journey. Get Dracula's Demeter now.

Perfect read after reading the original Dracula.

I finished the original Dracula book and loved it, so much that I wanted to read more. This was the perfect book to read after! So interesting! At first, the reading seemed a little off where you can tell they cut audio from one reading to the next. The sound would seem off, but the person reading was very good with the voices of the characters and the story is so interesting that I ended up not caring about the audio changes.

Decent Story Botched by Performance

A decent companion to Brahm Stoker’s original, clever use of the vagary of the ship’s log to build a story. However, the performance is simply terrible. Pacing miscues make transitions awkward and difficult to follow, pronunciations vary sometimes sentence to sentence, and the accents are atrocious. The performance truly detracts from the story, this is probably a four star story if read properly.

For the Love of Count Dracula!!

Superbly done!! Great fan of a good Dracula story and this one makes the top of my collection!! Great knowledge of the ship of yesteryear as well as the seas they travelled. Well done Mr. Lamoreux! Well done!!

Bad narration

Biggest problem is that every character has the narrator’s lazy American accent. Should have gotten someone who can at least do Russian and British. Good story but lazy boring narration.
