Dean Harper is the type of doctor anyone would want to bump into in an elevator. He's devilishly handsome, deeply caring, and has a pair of sapphire blue eyes that pierce right through you. He was well on his way to having the perfect life with whom he thought was the perfect man. Well, until he found that perfect man cheating on him with three other guys. At the same time.
Noah Silver is having a difficult time. With his mom passing and his dad growing more and more difficult to live with, he's pushed into an unorthodox way of making money. He knew that being a cam boy would be temporary, but he didn't realize how drastically it would change his life.
He had no idea he would meet the man of his dreams because of it. He also had no idea he would become the target of a serial killer because of it.
Dean's world gets turned upside down when Noah, the guy he'd been fantasizing with through a computer screen, ends up in his exam room. Their connection is immediate, even though Noah has no idea Dean is behind his online crush. They both have issues to work on, but can either of them pass up a chance like this? Or are they both throwing themselves into harm's way?
Code Silver is the first book in the Sierra View series. It's a full-length, steamy gay romance that can be enjoyed alone and has no cliffhangers.

The narration was good. Not as great as some of my favs but he did a good job. Nice tone, good pace and he used different character voices. Even his female was ok.
*An Additional note* I love when covers give the perfect image of the characters and this cover is all wrong for these characters. Also the insults sound like they were written by an 8 year old. Douche waffle, seriously?!
After coming out to his parents and being cut off Noah who is an adult but with no means and dreams for his future decides to start a cam porn show thinking if he doesn't show his face theres no harm.
At the same time the hot doctor who is single due to his need for monogamy turns to the internet for entertainment. This is where he gets a crush on the sexy cam star. They exchange some chats but with neither showing their face they stay anonymous.
Then one night Noah has a little accident and ends up at the er being checked out by the sexy doc. They flirt but neither of them knows that they have been exchanging sexy chats but Noah slips the doc his number.
After awhile Noah decides to show his face to try to make more money and the doc makes the connection but doesn't tell Noah but he does ask Noah out and that is where things get interesting in both good and bad ways with his identity now known publicly.
The story has lots of elements and kept my interest from start to finish and the ending was such a shocker. I thought I had it figured out but I was so wrong.
Good story and performance

After discovering Code Silver was also available on audible and free with the Romance Package, I took the time to silently thank myself for keeping the subscription because when I finished reading Code Silver I just needed to listen to it. Jason Frazier NAILED IT! Max Walker wrote a strong story, combining romance and mystery couldn't have been an easy feat but he nails it in Code Silver. The chemistry he's written between Noah and Dean had me getting the next book in the Sierra View series. He writes the real emotions in relationships that we can relate to (exes, employment, status, family, friends, insecurities, etc.). Max took his time with Noah and Dean (thank god) because as much as I love to read steamy sex scenes, he stuck to Dean's character when it came to being in another relationship and relinquishing some of that trust with another. Being in a five year relationship and come to find that your significant other threw it away, couldn't be easy; and with Noah's character, and how he felt that he wasn't good enough because of what he had to do to make extra money isn't an easy topic to discuss over dinner but Max did it and it was beautifully written. He took his readers into consideration when he wrote Noah and Dean's story because their situations felt so real and possible.
Now lets get to the goodies because the sex? Hot damn! I've just recently started reading m/m romances (less than a year) and I must say, Code Silver is on my top ten, and to be honest, I was hesitant of the whole cam boy thing BUT he wrote it very well. I kept and open mind because my first thought was like "cam boy, eh tacky no?" Well he proved me wrong and it was hot! Hotter in audible too!!
While all this is happening, in the background you get snippets of murder who's been murdering cam boys and when he contacts Noah, the mystery begins and the suspense of who done it grows...expertly written into this romance, you think you know who it is but Max throws you into a loop, so read Code Silver, till the very end because if the story of Noah and Dean doesn't keep you turning the page over and over, then the mystery of who the murder of the cam boys is will! Five stars for this hot mystery! Happy Reading and Listening!
Romance & Mystery? Well it CAN be done..expertly!

I did like how the romance developed, but there was uneveness in the writing. I thought the cam scenes were the strongest, while the light bantering scenes tended to be weak.
I did like the narrator, who strived to imbue emotion into the characters' voices. However, there were instances when the sound effects crossed the line into campiness, causing me to laugh inappropriately during hot or heavy moments. Ultimately, this ended up increasing my enjoyment rather than the opposite.
Good listen, except serial killer plot a bit much

Code Silver struck me as an extended meet-cute story; basically, the set-up is listed in the blurb, but it's this: a cam-boy making savings to set up his personal training business, and a doctor who has connected with him online, and a chance encounter puts them both in the position of meeting face-to-face, and having secrets.
Dean, the doctor, can't figure out a way to say he already knows about Noah's online career (and, frankly, thinks it's hot), and Noah's trying to figure out how to broach what he does. Add to that their emotional baggage, and I was worried I was in for a tale where a single sit-down and chat would have resolved all the conflict. But no, it's actually quite a lovely (and and early resolution) and the bulk of the tale is really more about the two getting to know each other, and spending time together, and—of course—a few erotic passages. The romance/meet-cute/evolution of the pair was enjoyable and fun.
However, I'm still not sure about the inclusion of a particular sub-plot: there is a violent serial killer that appears in the story, and it felt a little lost, sudden, and coincidental, and given how it wasn't even remotely mentioned in the blurb it left me wishing I'd known that "full-length, steamy gay romance" was going to include bloody moments. Even just the inclusion of the word "thriller" would have helped adjust my expectations for its inclusion.
Solid romance, just slightly mis-labeled
