About this listen

The death of your beloved pet can be one of the most heartbreaking losses you'll ever endure. But recovery isn't only about closure. You also want to know where your best friend has gone.

After the intense, unexpected grief he experienced following the loss of his own companions, animal lover and biblical scholar Gary Kurz set out to prove that there are indeed pets in paradise. After devoting himself to countless hours of research, he now shares his inspiring insights to bring you a richer understanding of animals and their souls. You'll finally find answers to common questions about animals and the afterlife - and you'll also get a 30-day devotional to help you work through your grief.

If you've ever loved and lost a pet, or if you know someone who has shared a special bond with a furry face and a cold, wet nose, you'll welcome this amazing book's reassurance that love and loyalty are truly eternal and that someday, you and your pets will be together again.

After losing my beloved dog in October of last year, I have struggled. He was more than a pet, he was my training partner. He helped change my life with a radical shift from the corporate world to opening my own business. I could not have done it without him. Losing him to lymphoma in less than six years with us was devastating. He was a rescue and loved by my husband, family and friends. Some clients met him as well. This book has helped me see so much. I have a deep faith but still had deep sorrow. I will recommend this book to those I encounter who are going through the same difficulties.

Gave me piece of mind

Our boxer was only 5 1/2 years old and passed from cancer 4 months ago. I cannot express how grateful I am for this book! However, the voice of the narrator is not fitting to the topic. It literally took away from the content during many parts of this entire book. For that, I was disappointed because I only do audible books versus reading myself. Thank you to the author, I truly feel so much lighter!

I so needed to hear this!

I read the hardcopy (in the past) when I lost one of my pets (before the audio version). I am grateful that it's now available on audiobook because I needed to read it again, unfortunately. It's a good reference and resource for things that I already knew in my heart about God and His plan for animals, but it's good to have someone with his credibility point out Scriptural references. It is a good mix too: Scripture study and a devotional at the end. He even adds a section of humorous animal stories to help lift your spirit toward the end. The narrator has a comforting voice too - which is nice at a traumatic time in life.

Must Read for Christians who lost a pet

Not what I thought it would be. Didn’t talk much about grief but tons of bible verses

Not like the title

I am not the most religious person, though I can appreciate a good, biblical viewpoint. However, I stopped this book about 3/4 chapters in because I was feeling confused and agitated. While I think in theory this could have been good, the execution just was not there for me. I felt like it was all scripture reading and a lesson on the Bible rather than about animals dying/going to heaven. I also felt that there was a condescending undertone which I didn’t appreciate. For someone who is super into the Bible, it would be good, probably. But if not, it may just be frustrating.

Very religious/biblical

struggled with it. I thought it was about grieving a pet and not a Bible lesson

Author went on way too many tangents and argument for animals going to heaven was weak and unsubstantiated.

Not substantial enough evidence
