About this listen

Ellison Russell's life resembles a rollercoaster ride. And rollercoasters make her ill. Her daughter Grace has a crush on a boy Ellison doesn't trust and she's taken to hosting wild parties when Ellison goes out for the evening. Worse, the bank which represents Grace's inheritance from her father may be in trouble.

When a meeting with the chef at the country club leads to the discovery of a body, Ellison can't afford cold feet. She must save the bank, find the killer, and convince Grace (and herself) that powerful women don't need men to rescue them.

This is one of my favorite series! I'm always so excited when a new book comes out, but I patiently wait for the audio version because I know that the narrator is fabulous and I will want to listen to them more than once. So fun to go back and listen to them again in a couple years! This is so well written and narrated, it really draws you into the world of the 70's and into the characters and how they lived in that era. Love it!!!

Love this series!

Julie Mulhern has created such relatable characters. And, Anarchy, I think he is my favorite literary character of all the books I have read! The story was great, and such a flowing reading style.

The 70s were a rough decade for having money. Or being a protestant.

Best story and writing of her novels, that I've read. Plenty of funny sections, not too much dwelling on Jones and a very good progression to the conclusion.

I recommend this book. Nice listing, and no eye rolling.

I am a bit over the loves baby soft, but oh well.

Her only reliable relationship is with Mr. Coffee.
