How can we catch schools that cheat on standardized tests? How does Netflix know which movies you'll like? What is causing the rising incidence of autism? As best-selling author Charles Wheelan shows us in Naked Statistics, the right data and a few well-chosen statistical tools can help us answer these questions and more.

Tim James, the secondary-school science teacher we all wish we'd had, provides an accessible and wonderfully entertaining 'biography of chemistry' that uses stories to explain the positions and patterns of elements in the periodic table.

Please hire people to read the book who know how to pronounce the words
I almost stopped listening, but I want to review chemistry before I take a comprehensive test on it in a few weeks. I listened to a few parts more than once, and found that I was repeating the words with the correct emphasis and sometimes wanted to yell at the narrator. In case she is reading my review, ion is pronounced eye-on not ih-on or eee-on. Sometimes she would diversify her pronunciations and would get a word spot-on. I relished those moments and cringed during the other, too numerous times the accents were ignored or unknown. You know you can Google how to pronounce words now. I wish narrators would check how to say something before recording the final draft. Or have a chemistry teacher listen to the audiobook before it goes out to unsuspecting students.
