About this listen

Knox

Let me get one thing straight.

I am not in love with my best friend. My heart isn’t broken, and there is no "he" who’s going to swoop in and magically make it all better. Whatever that crazy psychic says, it’s not true!

I’m Knox MacKenzie, and I’m straight as an arrow. I like girls - even though they don’t always like me back. If my heart beats a little faster and my tummy gets a bit wobbly when the local bartender sets his fascinating eyes on me, it’s no one’s business but my own.

Lucky

Unrequited love might suck, but it brought Jasper, the loneliest man in small town, to my brewery. Knox has no idea how transparent he is - even when the batty old psychic tells him the truth to his face.

But Knox is convinced he’s straight. He’s convinced she’s confused. Well, I’m convinced those looks we share mean more.

What Knox needs is a friend to help him forget his broken heart and figure out who he truly is.

A low-angst, bisexual awakening, MM romance novel.

first one was great second one exceptional.

I definitely loved the narrator. I really enjoyed book one and was excited to move on to book two. I have to say that I loved book two just as much if not more than book one.

Loved it

Omg I loved Nick during this performance. He does an awesome job distinguishing all the different characters in this series

This book had no to low angst, Perfect bi-awakening and slow burn.

Knox is self conscious, quiet, shy, lonely, confused, and very low self esteem. We met Mr. Grumpy in book one. LOL. He is struggling with all the feelings he has been having and doesn’t know what to think.

Lucky is a nomad, doesn’t settle, and moves on when the time is right. He doesn’t do relationships often because he needs to know the person and fall for their mind and heart.

I loved watching Lucky’s patience with Knox to develop that friendship they both craved and help Knox open his eyes to what they have been feeling.

These guys were so sweet together, I loved it. These two are perfect for each other with their love and understanding. Throw in a big family that Knox has that love him dearly and Lucky on his search for what could be out there for him (not giving a spoiler).

A big part of the book is Knox finally understanding what he is feeling and also trying to repair what he kind of has destroyed with his best friend Easton. I loved seeing Knox finally turn to Easton when he needed him the most and of course Easton is still the Easton we fell in love with. I loved seeing Percy in this book. That boy is one special kid.

Let me just say, their first kiss is so romantic for them. They deserved it.

Ok so let’s wrap this up. Run out now and get this book. If you haven’t read book one please do so since you meet Knox in that book and see how he is feeling which bleeds over into this book. Bring on book 3 because I can’t wait to see what Josiah gets dished up because he is the king of spreading news.

Loved it!!

Oh poor clueless Knox....I just love him. I loved his journey of self discovery and self acceptance. Lucky was the perfect pairing for him! Unlike a lot of Nicky’s books, this is pure sweetness!!
Narration by Nick J Russo was great.

Feel good story

I loved this story. Knox has such a poor view of himself, mainly appearance. I completely understand what he was going through and it was wonderful that he found someone to help him see himself as he really is,. Love this series

Good story. Good narration.

Another sweet addition to the series. I enjoyed getting to know Knox and Lucky. I did want to smack Knox upside the head with a 'clue by four' a few times. Sigh. Some people are just that stubborn.

Narration was lovely, and I ordered the rest of the entire series because I find Nick j Russo's voice strangely soothing.

Excellent series!!

I love this author and the narration is so good. Nick Russo has always been a favorite narrator and he is just so good here. Easy listening with sweet characters that flow to the next book and can't wait to see whats up and with Josiah and Shay. Sometimes I take a break in between books and listen to another genre so I don't get bored but not with this series. The Valor and Doyle series was fun and entertaining but this series I Iike even more. No point in repeating the storyline since that's already been done but I had to say I just loved the previous book with Easton and Lachian and looking forward to continuing on. My suspicions about Knox here proved to be true and its the writing and development of the characters in each book that keep me listening. Xoxo ❤️🥂👍

From confusion to clarity.

Nicky James makes a series truly interesting by mixing various MCs stories in one small community. Cowboys, civil servants and a reporter, she makes a series entertaining from start to finish. No technical explanations of the writing style or what type of plot and how the story build-up, etc. Nicky James is a natural talent and I lóve her work. She delivers a finished product every time, from when the contents of a book/series is created in her mind, to editing, to the day that the book is launched. I as a fan only have to purchase and enjoy. That is why I strongly recommend her work. ❤️

Wasn't my favorite out of the series but solid

I like how all of these books intertwine.
The love story of Knox and Lucky was a very slow burn and the first half of the book filled with a lot of unnecessary plot points.

Once they finally get past the threshold and decide to have a romance I really enjoyed it.
There have been complaints that Knox has low self-esteem and complains a lot.

As someone who has been in the closet and dated men in the closet it was uncanny that is how men behave.

I enjoyed Knox and I came to like him but in the beginning I didn't think he had any redeeming qualities. At the end of the novel I was happy that they found love.

I think it accurately depicts someone who is confused in their sexuality. these decisions are made overnight and I appreciated the realism but it doesn't make for a good read.

Overall it's a good book just be patient with it just like Lucky was with Knox.

The narration was as always immaculate and flawless it was also nice to see Easton and Lachlan.
