About this listen

The exciting conclusion to the captivating Wilders series.

The virus is morphing and moving fast. Wilders aren't following the three rules anymore. Nobody is safe.

Running low on supplies while waiting for a response from their plea for help, the camp in the Adirondak forest can't wait any longer. Emerson is selected to lead a supply run on what should be a short trip into town. With the world sliding dangerously close to a full apocalypse, his team will have to make hazardous decisions.

Back in the camp, help arrives. But the form it takes is unexpected. Renna doesn't know who to trust. Or how she'll survive.

Bold choices always have consequences. Now it's time to face them.

A very satisfying conclusion to the Wilders series. All the questions are answered and I liked the positive way things were resolved.

What a Finale

I received this audiobook for free in exchange for my honest review.

I'll start with the only negative and that was the narration, mostly for the attempt at accents to vary between characters and partly for the male voices, making it difficult to distinguish between which guy was speaking. However, I'm here for the story, so the narration didn't bother me very much.

I love when authors give protagonists flaws, and Cass does an amazing job at revealing those flaws within the story and then allowing the characters to learn from them. I also love when characters don't have the immortality complex; not everyone is going to make it out of the apocalypse and the effect is has on certain characters is palpable. I didn't want to see an ending to this era, but I'm happy with how things wrapped up and really enjoyed the different points of view. This whole series is a must read/listen.

Unique Take on Zombies

This book is supposed to be for teens or young adults but it is for anybody who enjoys Dystopian. This book is the ending of the series; the main character is Renna a teenager living in ½ apocalypse with some of the zombies called wilders some are fast some are not. She is at camp while finding a vaccine to cure this virus that turns people into wilders as the group just tries to survive. Enjoyed the character Deena, Sue, Emerson and Tim Tam the cat but cannot say anything about the ending you have to listen. Recommend listening to The Wilders and The Change first. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. Thank you

Highly recommended sequel

This is a continuation of the first book where a vaccine is being sought for the wilder curse. It is set in an apocalyptic time from the perspective of two friends, Renna and Alyssa.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first story and I really enjoyed this sequel as well! It was well built up, the characters were created and developed well, and my favourite character Tim Tam made a reappearance!! The author has a really great way of emotionally connecting the listener to the characters. The plot has some neat twists as well which kept the flavour nice and spicy!

The narrator performed really well with good emotion and energy. I would definitely listen to her again.

The Cat!

This well written ending to the series was enjoyable, full of twists and surprises. Gotta say, the cat stole my heart. I love when authors create pets that are more like characters. Over well done book and worth the credit. The narrator was awesome as well.

Will there be an end to the half-pocalypse?

In this conclusion to the 'Wilders' series, 'Consequences' finds the scientific camp in the woods coming closer to a vaccine for the Wilder virus and also running low on supplies. Emerson and Alissa lead a group to town to gather supplies. Meanwhile, Renna and the scientists encounter the help they need to finish their work on a vaccine....or do they?

For me, the book started out fairly slow. This is due to my personal preference of action over introspection. It picks up speed when Emerson and Alissa begin their trek to town for supplies, and Renna and the scientists encounter the people from the government come to deliver assistance. At that point, the suspense and action ramp up, as the Wilder virus' mutation is infecting people at a pace that is nearly impossible to contain.

Cass Kim gives all the main characters (and a few secondary characters) some growing up and facing the consequences of what has happened in their world. It was a nice progression of character development. I was especially intrigued by the Wilder characters depicted in this book and wish that they were fleshed out a little more as well. Maybe there will be side stories in this universe in the future?

Liz Brand is a very capable narrator. I liked her inflection and character voices. I have only listened to her in the 'Wilders' series so far, but look forward to checking out her other work.

I was given a free review copy of this audiobook, at my request. This is a voluntary review.
