About this listen

The queen of Chicago's criminal underworld, Hadria "Hades" Imperioli, is no stranger to power and danger.

When she set Aurora Verderosa free, Hadria thought she was doing the right thing—for once in her life.

But now the only light in her dark world has been ripped from her, and Hadria faces a vulnerability she never knew.

As Hadria frantically searches the city's underbelly to save her lover, the Syndicate she leads becomes fractured, with some questioning her right to lead.

Hadria is forced to confront the idea that saving Aurora might mean giving up her criminal kingdom. But the crime queen is determined to reclaim her love—whatever it takes.

Can Hadria save Aurora and claim her forever?

Or will the darkness she revels in overtake her at last and destroy any chance at love?

Consort of the Crime Queen is the thrilling conclusion to the Underworld Duet, a steamy contemporary Sapphic mafia romance based (very) loosely on the myth of Hades and Persephone. For mature listeners.

Consort of the Crime Queen is a pulse-pounding conclusion to an addictive duet, packed with just the right blend of darkness, romance, and high-stakes action. If Captive of the Crime Queen set the stage, this installment ignited it in flames.

Hadria continues to dazzle as the ultimate mafia villainess—fiercely possessive and vulnerable in ways that made her even more captivating. Seeing her fight tooth and nail to reclaim Aurora showcased an intense depth to her character that I absolutely adored. Aurora's growth remained a highlight; her strength deepened beautifully without ever sacrificing her heart.

The chemistry between Hadria and Aurora intensified dramatically, and the spicy scenes were even hotter this time around. Paige Reisenfeld and Aleksi Graves continued to blow me away with their narration, expertly capturing the emotional highs and lows, and breathing vivid life into every moment.

I loved how the retelling elements of the Hades and Persephone myth evolved seamlessly within the gritty mafia setting, adding extra layers to the suspense and romance. This duet absolutely solidified me as a fan of Persephone Black—I can’t wait to see what's next from her.

If you're craving deliciously dark sapphic romance with powerful, morally grey heroines, look no further. This finale hits all the right notes.

I loved the two books! Would have been better if only one narrator had made both MCs voices. I don't understand why there were two narrators, tbh. I personally thought Paige sounded better, that low throaty, deep voice for Hadria made even my chest flutter more times than I can count. And her more soft voice for Aurora was also satisfying, without sounding like she was whispering or with a sore throat, like the other narrator. Don't get me wrong, the other narrator has a great range, with accents and all, very well done, but I didn't enjoy how similar both MC's voices sounded at time, specially where Hadria was concerned and for male characters as well...
Regardless, all in all I've thoroughly enjoyed listening to both books!
I recommend them to any wlw fans out there!

"I'll stand by you" by the Pretenders is the perfect soundtrack for this story

Ok it was so good that I need a book 3! The MCs are really the best mix of sweet and deadly which makes them the perfect couple. Lots of spice which was well written and realistic.

So so good

Between the story and narration, you just can't go wrong by purchasing this audiobook. Did I hear someone say #3 is on the way?

Don't know if I am allowed to make another comment, but I'm an American and most of us don't have any sense. This is more of a pop quiz. When Juno and Hadria met, Juno lost her accent. Her accent drives me wild, and I missed it. Was there a reason for the missing accent? Pretty silly question, right? I think I love you all but I'm 75 and I'm not sure of anything except that I love your audio books. Jackson

You knew I would love it!

Liked that it had a bit more of the crime aspect of the story in it. Definitely spicier then the first. Love the creativity.

Better then the first!

My favorite duet from this author. I enjoy all her books and love that all of her novels tie in together.

Good book. A few angsty moments and times that Aurora made me irritated. I am hoping there is a third book since this one ended on a cliffhanger.

Will there be a third?
