About this listen

A massacre along the Rio Grande draws Bishop and his SAINT team to the border with Mexico. Their investigation soon reveals a local conflict that challenges the Texan's moral compass while testing the Alliance's commitment to individual freedoms. Butter finds himself at the center of the dilemma, torn between a woman who desperately needs his help and the loyalty he feels toward Bishop and the team. Lured by a girl who has captured his heart, Butter becomes a pawn in a high stakes political game in which he is accused of murder and sentenced to death. Bishop and Terri must find a way to save their friend without pulling the Alliance into a conflict it cannot win.

The interlaced plots and the overall storyline held me trancelike, yearning for the next chapter.
This book should be rated as a must read.
The fact that this is the twelfth says it all.
WOW

Enthralling

I liked the narrator of first ten books better than Pauley's version of Texas accents. His emphasis is to heavy for most Texans.

Don't care to much for Pauley.

I love this series and recommend it for anyone interested in PA fiction. My main objective here however is to give high praise to Michael Pauley for his spot on narration. Mr. Nobody has used several different narrators in this series and some were awful, ruining the story for me, however this narrator was fantastic. I could tell who was speaking, male or female, before they were even identified. That’s how nuanced his narration is this book.

Keep using Michael Pauley Mr. Nobody!

Great series! Great narration

I wish Joe Nobody would stick with one narrator. he's had some that sounded like bishop perfect. Michael Pauley is not Bishop. still loved the book!

great story, just dislike narrator.

The story in this and the previous book are the best of the series. Twists that I didn't see coming were great.

One of the best books of the series

last two books server storyline but if it wasn't for the narrator trying to sound like he was imitation of Bush Jr the story would have been better

Still getting used to the new narrarator but he does a good job and this one only took me 2 days to get through. Now back to waiting for the next one!

I have been faithfully listening to this series when each new book is available. The last few seemed like the author was stretching for new plot lines. Not so with this one. It held my interest and I didn't want it to end.

Better than the last couple

The storyline was good however the narrator failed. I really enjoyed David Wright as a narrator. I had to bail.
