All the feels

I have never cried so hard during a story. My husband thought there was something seriously wrong with me. But when I told him that it was the book, he chuckled and kissed my forehead. It was such an emotional, anxiety inducing, and thrilling journey. I had to pause for quite a while to wrap my heart and emotions around everything when it was all over. I fell in love with Aslan and Neri. I was enthralled. Now… I need a vacation at the beach.

The EPIC LOVE STORY of 2023 - Best duet narration ever!

After the cliffhanger in Book 1 - Lunamare, the story continues and spins into darkness and anguish as Aslan is held captive by this father while Nerita deals with a broken heart that is intricately linked to Aslan’s. Pepper Winters is such a phenomenal author and I don’t know how she does it. Where she gets her inspiration to build this beautiful, incredible world that she cleverly pulled us into. I LOVE how each chapter has the various translations of ‘love’ and ‘ heart’.
She hooked us in with starting from present, Nerita telling her story to two reporters, Dillion and Margo…and deeper we dive into this love story that can never be forgotten. I was filled with anguish, sadness, frustration, anger and more with book 2 - waiting and waiting…this story is EPIC…it spans over at least 6 decades…with love being constant…

Tor Thom’s performance in this book was one of his best - an Audie Award performance. The range of emotions, so raw and superbly done , exceptionally when he was with his father for those 5 years…wow!! I am blown away by his talent and the range of accents and age and also to speak Turkish.
Fiona Clare was exceptional in the way she brought Nerita to life, feisty, stubborn, free 12 years old to her seventies…award winning performance

My favorite quotes….

Where you walk, I walk,
Where you swim, I swim,
Where you sleep, I sleep
Sharing the same heart….
Some day but not today…
We would swim into the stars and there with the moon to guide us and the sea to carry us, we would find each other and start all over again…
THANK YOU Pepper Winters and to Tom and Fiona for one of the best audiobooks I have ever listen to in 2023.

Best duet of the year!

Gritty, dark and emotional Pepper Winters pulls me into the second part of Neri and Aslan's story. After the cliffhanger from Luna Mare, I could not wait to hear where this story goes. Like a set of dominos, Aslan and Neri's life falls. After all, we know their happiness can't last forever, but the path it takes is so dark and so dangerous, it's impossible not to keep going thinking it can't get worse. But get ready to cringe! It does and the darkness Neri and Aslan share is incredibly addicting. This story shows how there truly are soulmates and no matter the circumstance, that love will be the overriding factor. My top listen of the year, it's a story that will stick with me for a long time.

Tor Thom and Fiona Clare finish out book two with a performance that tore my heart out and slowly put it back. Thom had the most emotional performance to date that I have heard. He comes through it, making me wince in the darkest of scenes and blush in the most passionate. Clare has a different path with Neri, and her spiral into sadness pulled at my heart. Her ability to go from Neri young to old is met with ease and her emotionally driven performance was spectacular. I loved these two together and could not have enjoyed this duet narration more.

One of my favorite duets!!

Heart pounding , lose every breath in your body moments. An anger you can feel to defend and protect these characters! And a love like no other. The test of times and devastation cannot break them. I loved the narration so so much!!! Truly an amazing duet!

Riveting

Cor Amare is the second book of the duet and deals with subjects that may be triggering o some so please heed the trigger warnings before proceeding. It is a story with plenty of emotions and I was on the edge of my seat whilst listening hoping that all would be revealed. This book is not for the faint of heart but if you are a follower of dark romance then this book will be right up your alley.
This is the continuance of Aslan Avci and Nerida (Neri) Taylor’s story and Tor Thom and Fiona Clara did a great job with their performances with a story that spans years. It was a raw, emotional and gritty performance hat drew me in and held me captive until the end.
What a conclusion to an amazing duet.

Speechless!

Words would do no justice to the work of art by winters, it is something you must experience with your heart and soul. A journey is what you’ll experience with every emotion under the sun. But oh what BEAUTIFUL emotions they will be! A true MASTERPIECE! Bravo maestro winters, Bravo!

Wow! Another amazing book by Pepper Winters..

I have always loved Pepper Winters books. I think my favorite dark read of hers is the Monsters in the Dark series. I think the most unique is The Goddess Isles series. However, THIS is my favorite angsty tearjerker series by her. This book reminds me of The Notebook or Titanic but slightly darker ( which you know to expect from Pepper Winters) where an older person is telling a story of love from youth until they are elderly. I loved it. The narrators were also easy to listen to. Sometimes my biggest complaint with audiobooks is the narrators can make or break a story but with this one these narrators did a great job..

I love this story!

This story brought so much love and heartache but has so much hope that I could feel it pulsing through my head as I listened. It was narrated so perfectly that I know I will be listening again and again!
