About this listen

From New York Times best seller Pepper Winters comes one of her best tales yet...

"What do you do when you meet your soul mate? No wait...that's too easy. What do you do when you meet your soul mate and have to spend a lifetime loving him in secret? I'll tell you what you do. You lie."

REN

Ren was eight when he learned that love doesn't exist - that the one person who was supposed to adore him only cared how much he was worth. His mother sold him and for two years, he lived in terror.

But then...he ran.

He thought he'd run on his own. Turned out, he took something of theirs by accident and it became the one thing he never wanted and the only thing he ever needed.

DELLA

I was young when I fell in love with him, when he switched from my world to my everything. My parents bought him for cheap labor, just like they had with many other kids, and he had the scars to prove it. At the start, he hated me, and I could understand why. For years he was my worst enemy, fiercest protector, and dearest friend. But by the end...he loved me. The only problem was, he loved me in an entirely different way to the way I loved him. And slowly, my secret drove us apart.

Amazing and Wonderful!

This story is SOOOO GOOOOD I seriously contemplated using sick time to listen instead of work... This duet is all the things! Beautifully and skillfully performed by Will Watt and Hayden Bishop. Just WOW!! I have been brought to everything from giggles to tears by this story of suspenseful angst, pure love, sacrifice, wanting, and self discovery. I just started book 2. Pepper Winters is a master! This story is breaking me into little tiny pieces over and over again, and I can't believe I waited this long to read it. Again - WOW! This is my first time hearing Will with a southern accent. You are a brilliant auditory chameleon! This is my first book narrated by Hayden Bishop and she is really talented! I will definitely listen to more of her narration.

OMG, this audiobook!!!!

There is no real way of describing this audiobook!
Other than it’s breathtaking, gut-wrenchingly beautiful, superbly poetic, and brutally raw!
A whole new realm of the divine world!

The Boy & His Ribbon is an exquisite masterpiece of divine art, etching it's way into your inner solar plexuses, stealing all your rational thought. Then replacing it with wrecked and utter mindlessness!
Slaying you from the very first start.

Pepper Winters has penned the novel of the century with this masterpiece!
I’d even go so far as to say it’s her best work ever!
Her writing has grown volumes, to a whole new level of unadulterated pure genius calculating, precision and grace.

The narrators out did themselves with the narration!

Speechless!

Let me start by saying I've already read this book, so I already knew what was going to happen, yet I wanted to be destroyed all over again with this audiobook. And wow did it ever destroy me again. It was not an easy listen. It was sad and heartbreaking, I was still wishing things were different for Ren and Della. I'm not sure I'll ever fully recover from this story. I went through so many emotions all over again while listening that I feel like I suffered everything along with the characters. I'm eager to listen to The Girl and Her Ren because although I know the ending I can’t leave these charcters. This was an amazing listen! These narrators took this book and made it spectacular. They made these characters real and broke my heart all over again because of how real they made them. Just speechless!

Ren and his Ribbon

A Boy and His Ribbon by Pepper Winters packs a hard punch! This story is both heartbreaking and heartwarming. Pepper pulled no punches in the emotional part of this book. I am in complete AWE at how gorgeous the writing was, the growth of those involved, the love between them both and just the sheer determination to survive.
When it comes to book Heroes – we always think about the alpha male who redeems himself at the end. None of them shed a light to Ren. Ren was probably the most likeable character I’ve read to date. From day 1 he sacrificed everything for Della and it grabbed my heart so hard.
The Boy and His Ribbon was not your typical romance and I think that’s what I liked most about it. It was a little suspenseful, very touching and slightly dark/forbidden. There are dark scenes discussed in the book that with absolutely break your heart all while sewing it back together with the innocence of love and caring for another.
Will M Watt and Hayden Bishop narrate this book perfectly!

How do you rate your heart?

I am trying to remove myself from the cliffhanger because I just hate them so much, especially ones that are so epic the reader can’t move on with their life. I don’t think it’s nice to the reader, but that is my opinion not a judgment on the book.

So walking away from how salty I am over that, this book was magnificent. It was a landscape painting full of vivid colors and characters that were expertly drawn up into the readers minds.

The slowest of burns, I wanted to blow on the fire and have it spread a little faster but by the end, I was grateful that I was patient and glad that the fire was still at a manageable level because now we have a month to wait for book 2 and I couldn’t take it if the fire was raging and then we had to wait.

Slightly taboo, but only for those that don’t know or read taboo. If you do, then it won’t be any skin off your back.

Hayden Bishop is one of my favorite for this age group of characters. She is just perfect. She has that tone. Will Watt was amazing too. I must say that this was a complete waste of his accent as he spoke in an American accent but it was ok because I loved it and I love him.
