About this listen

Aileen

They promised me as tribute.

Youngest of six, I'm untouched.

Unblemished.

And in the world of the Irish mafia...Wanted.

I'm given to a man I've never met.

Forced into a union I didn't condone.

Owned by a dangerous rival.

He may take my body, but he won't steal my heart.

Please note: Cormac: A Dark Irish Mafia Romance contains elements of dubious consent, violence, and kinky, sexual scenarios. If such elements offend you, please do not listen.

Not a fan of Eileen

These narrators always bring their A GAME. Love them. They Story was rushed and Eileen is annoying from the very start, I mean not many people are happy as a betrothed bride but she knew that was her fate. Additionally, Cormac was tolerant of her behavior but Eileen had me skipping chapters because of her nonsense.

Piece for the Clans

Aideen is in a forced/arranged marriage with Cormac and its rough. She's unsure of her place and then she gets amnesia from being attacked. She's pregnant RIGHT away and I think it made it work.

Cormac was an a$$hole but he really wanted it to work.

He was so sweet. Him going baby shopping was cute lolz.

It was super fast and short. And I'm loving all the brothers in their own way.

True Alpha Male Dom for sure.

Cormac took one for the team and agreed to an arranged marriage to keep the order in their mafia world. His virgin bride was tough, but not really. It was convenient that she really liked kink, but she took her time falling in love with new husband.

This narrator duet are my favorite. I listened to several Audibles with this pair and they are incredible!

Tantalizing dark Mafia romance!

Jane Henry has written another winning story in the Dangerous Doms series. She never lets me down! Her plot and character development will make it almost impossible to stop listening to it. Sometimes one does have to do other adulting responsibilities. Cormac is my latest book boyfriend. Just looking at the book cover picture, he is so powerful looking. He is a ruthless strong dominant man, but that rough looking man also has a heart of passion, kindness, caring, and love. Family is extremely important to him. Eileen is a strong sassy woman. But her family has never shown her love. In fact she and her sisters are just creatures used to pay off debts or be used as bargaining chips. She doesn't even realize how much pain Cormac has spared her from when they first meet. To her he is just another monster. I love how she begins to realize that he isn't a monster to her after all. However, this won't be an instant process. She will have to accept the brutal world of the mafia. During this time, Eileen will have someone trying to kill her. This story will contain action, Mafia justice, several twists, family loyalty and love, and also some explosive love scenes.

Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott's real life chemistry shows through in their narration. They allow the listener to experience the emotions and personalities of these characters. I enjoyed their Irish accent and the distinctive voices that they gave the characters. Wen gave Cormac a strong yet caring dom voice. Kai gave Eileen a strong, sassy, yet at times a vulnerable voice. I immensely enjoy listening to these two talented storytellers. I highly recommend this Audible book.

I loved it!💜

Another great story from Jane Henry. From the first chapter I was in. Angst, sex and power, this book has it all.
Regarding the narration, Kai & Wen are fantastic narrators who really know how to bring the characters to life even though for me this accent wasn’t my favorite. That said, it didn’t take anything away from the story. This is book 2 with an HEA and can be read as a standalone.
I recommend this book.

🌻Could have been so much more🙁🌻 3 1/2⭐️

I don’t know what it says about me that I enjoy mafia romance; especially when I’m married to a former cop, but I do. It’s romance, alpha-males, adventurous sex and it’s fiction. I, in no way, do I truly romanticize real Mafia life. I guess the one thing that really intrigues me is the way that this pretend mafia is about to deal out retribution and justice. God knows, in the real world , the laws, designed to prevent the innocent from being wrongly convicted,(which is crucial) often allows the truly guilty to remain free.
In addition, the possessiveness, protectiveness, and fierce family loyalty, of these Alpha men, gives the listener warm, fuzzy feelings.

With that being said, this author’s books tend to repeat the same basic plots, over and over and the major conflict resolution is always too fast and unremarkable.

In addition, this narrating team, who are normally spot on with their performances, do not do an Irish accent well, at all. They basically substitute a “Da” sound for “T’s” and call it good.

If I had to describe Jane Henry’s books with one word I would describe them as “OK” !

Terrific Story & Narration🎧 Captivating & Intense!

Jane Henry delivers another awesome dark and twisted Irish Mafia romance in her “Dangerous Doms” series. This is the second book and can be enjoyed as a stand-alone, each book features a different brother in the McCarthy clan and this is Cormac’s story. I loved the first book, Keenan’s story and Jane Henry continues the same great momentum in this book, it is high in drama, angst, excitement, thrill, suspense, twists and romance in an unconventional way. There is an upheaval amongst two of the top families in the Irish mafia, the McCarthy and Martin clans. In order to make the Martin’s sacrifice their youngest daughter and Cormac will take her as his wife. Aileen may have kept her innocence but she is not stupid, she overhears her father’s plans and tries to escape, to be caught the day of he planned wedding. She does not go easy but she does go. Cormac likes her feistiness and is up for the challenge, she will learn her place soon enough. Aileen never knew what a loving home was like or what it was like to have someone to look out for her. I loved how everything plays out in this book, the story is cleverly plotted and there is never a dull moment. I also love how the author’s writing skills and descriptive details brings you right into the story right along side the characters giving you an inside view of everything going on, seeing what they see, think and feel. There is great world building and character development throughout the book and series. Jane Henry thank you for another awesome book, I loved every second of it!

Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross are perfectly casted to bring these characters to life. They both do a great job portraying the characters, completely grasping their persona and playing each role with perfection. Can not help but love Wen’s take on Cormac and his Irish accent. Kai’s Aileen was awesome too. You could heart how much heart they put in their performance as they project the characters emotions into their performance. They are entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another awesome listen🎧

Cormac

The audio was so well suited to the story and the dialogue very engaging. Had to listen to it twice because I had a “wait a minute” moment and was glad I did.

Cormac

I enjoyed the story, the characters, and the writing style. If you can suspend disbelief, you'll be fine. (Spoilers omitted.) I get a little picky on those details, but I still enjoyed the story. I must have read too many highlander time travel novels because I couldn't wrap my head around this being a contemporary story with all the talk about clans. The ending was very sudden; At first I thought it was the end of a chapter. Maybe an epilogue or lead-in to the next book would have helped. As for the "Dom" or BDSM elements, it was mild. Spanking, verbally dominant (not abusive) in and out of bed, stereotypical visit to a sex club.

Narration: I love the tone of Wen and Kai's voices, and they give a great performance, but the accents just didn't feel authentic to me. Not that I know anything about Irish accents.

I received a free copy of the audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
