About this listen
This book represents my attempt and my exhortation to others to step back from the trees in order to see the forest. I believe we human beings were built to win. I believe we were fashioned in eternity, complete with built-in corrections for the flaws that would develop in the time realm because of the free radical of free will.
I believe, therefore, that the flaws and sins of humankind have been accounted for and provided for from before the foundation of the world. All sins and their consequences — from serial murder to self-murder; from heinous tortures, rapes, racism, and wars to all diseases and every sickness, whether physical, mental, or religious — were laid on Jesus and borne away. The most important phrases Jesus uttered from the cross were, “Father, forgive them,” and “It is finished”. He spoke those words as he died the most horrible, unfair, and undeserved death any man could suffer. He was holy, just, and good. He died for us — the unholy, the unjust, and the un-good — and yet he said, “Father, forgive them”.

A. W. Tozer was a man of remarkable knowledge, an avid reader of Christians and philosophers from throughout the ages. But he meditated on the Bible, making him - like John Wesley - "a man of one Book and a student of many". Combine this knowledge with his acclaimed writing style and you have works like this one, high thoughts of God brought low - yet no less moving - for the common listener. When you set out to study Christ, you want to behold his splendor the best you can. That's why writers like A. W. Tozer are excellent guides.

How You Can Be Sure You Will Spend Eternity with God - it’s a big promise, but this short book delivers. It answers a host of questions, such as: Will good deeds help me get into heaven? Who goes to heaven and who doesn’t? What role do I have in my own salvation? Can I lose my salvation if I commit a serious sin? Is it wrong to doubt my salvation, and what should I do if I doubt? Dr. Lutzer takes many scriptural teachings and siphons them into clear, cohesive truths.

Story
The single most important event in a person's life is the new birth. Yet, this is also one of the most neglected doctrines in the church. Many Christians would be hard-pressed to describe exactly what the new birth is, let alone what it means to the rest of their walk with God. What happens when we are born again? Does everything in our lives change immediately? Is it just a kind of spiritual do-over? With a pastor's heart and a professor's insight, Lawson carefully examines the encounter between Jesus and Nicodemus found in John 3 to uncover the nature of this spiritual rebirth.

Story
One of the greatest crimes of this generation of Christians is its neglect of the Gospel, and it is from this neglect that all our other maladies spring forth. Absent from too many pulpits are the essential themes that make up the very core of the Gospel: the justice of God, the radical depravity of man, the blood atonement. In The Gospel's Power and Message, Paul Washer addresses these essential elements of Christ's good news and provides a guide to help us rediscover the Gospel in all its beauty, scandal, and saving power.

Grace is amazing. About this all Christians agree. Yet nearly all forms of Christianity put significant limits on grace. In Grace Saves All, David Artman argues that grace saves alone and goes to all. This inclusive approach to Christianity is variously called universal reconciliation, universal salvation, or perhaps most accurately, Christian universalism. He contends that the inclusive/Christian universalist approach is necessary because it offers the only Christian theology that successfully defends the goodness of God.

The Apostle Paul gave the Gospel the first place in his preaching, endeavored with all his might to proclaim it clearly, and even went so far as to pronounce a curse upon all those who would pervert its truth. Yet how sad it is that many, even among those considering themselves evangelicals, have reduced the Gospel message to a few trite statements to be repeated and view conversion as a mere human decision.

In Saved from What?, Dr. R.C. Sproul reveals that the greatest danger we face is the holy wrath of God against our sin. But the glory of the gospel is that the One from whom we need to be saved is the very One who saves us. As we better understand the severity of our sin and the sufficiency of Christ’s atonement, the truth of God’s grace will deepen our worship and drive us to make his salvation known.

At every Sunday mass, Catholics confess that Jesus came down from heaven ''for us men and for our salvation". But what does ''salvation'' mean? In this robust and accessible book, Scripture scholar and theologian Michael Patrick Barber provides a thorough, deeply Catholic, and deeply biblical answer. He deftly tackles this complex topic, unpacking what the New Testament teaches about salvation in Christ, detailing what exactly salvation is and what it is not. In easy and listenable prose, he explains what the cross, the church, and the trinity have to do with salvation.
