About this listen

Tinsley

I wasn’t 17 any longer, but I still had a problem—Jesse Compton kept up the pretense he was too old for me. I tried to move on, but he pulled me into his orbit. So, we rode off into the sunset of our happily ever after, right? Wrong. Fate tossed in some wicked plans in the form of a five-foot-five mafia princess and a nightmare from his troubled past, both threatening to destroy us.

Jesse

She was the most breathtaking girl I’d ever seen. Only I was all wrong for Tinsley Southerland for many reasons. If I wanted to protect her, I had to kill any attraction I possessed. Yeah. My body didn’t get that memo, and a series of reckless decisions put Tin in danger. Now I had to keep my cover and her safe while not losing my heart, my head, or our lives in the process.

Excellent Story, Characters & Narration🎧

I enjoyed the “Delta Security” prequel, “Tinsley”, it was a fantastic start and introduction to not only Tinsley and Jesse, but the other members of the security team and the world it takes place in and I was looking forward to spending more time with them and learning more about them and D.L. Lane does not disappoint with his amazing romantic suspense. It captivated my attention from start to end, had me thinking, kept me on my toes and brought me to the edge of my seat a few times. Jesse had pushed Tinsley away, but once he sees her with someone else, it was too much for him to bear, and he finally realized she was his. But he is in the middle of an investigation, which puts him undercover amongst some powerful and dangerous people. He keeps her in the dark, which, in my opinion, was not the smartest thing to do, I understand he was trying to protect her, but not knowing puts her at a huge disadvantage and possibly more at risk, even with the men of Delta Security watching over her, and speaking of them, Gabe “Reaper” is definitely one of my favorites and I am looking forward to his story.  I loved how everything played out in this book, it is a cleverly plotted story with plenty of drama, angst, twists and turns, thrilling suspense, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. D.L. Lane, thank you for another fantastic story and the wild and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Eric Bryan Moore and M.K. Blackwood were the perfect cast to bring these characters to life and did so with a complete understanding of who they were portraying, giving each a voice that suited that character and were believable in every role they played. Moore continues to nail it as Jesse, swoon worthy and all, his accents are fabulous too. M.K. Blackwood jumps in as Tinsley for this book and she was just as fabulous, grasped all sides of her personality. Both were fantastic performing the roles of the secondary characters too. You could hear how much heart these two put into their work as they capture all the character’s emotions and project them into their performance, making you feel each one. These entertaining storytellers are versatile voice artists and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another wonderful listen.

Love It

I thoughtly enjoyed this book. The narrators did a really good job with the voices and helped bring the book to life. I fell in love with all the men in the book. They made me laugh and showed what a brothehood was. I really hope to see more books with their story. I have to say Case, I hope he gets a book, too. He was so mature, and I swooned a little at how he handled the hard conversation. I enjoyed watching Jessie heal, and I could feel his struggle through the book with what he felt he had to do and what he wanted. Definitely kept me on my toes, and I didn't want to stop reading it. I could have used a little more during the spicy scenes, but overall, I loved it.

Tinsley & Cowboy!

I was so excited to see this release and it did not disappoint! DL Lane's new Delta Security series is romantic suspense at it's best! Amazing characters and a fantastic plot had me entertained for hours! Tinsley has been in love with Cowboy since she is 21, but the age gap and Cowboy's past keep him from starting something. That is until he can't help himself. Tinsley is all grown up and the draw to her is irresistible. She is quite the woman. Feisty, smart and gets along with the guys at Delta Security, she fits in perfectly. Cowboy has a lot in in his past, and he is determined to face it head on. Revenge has always been in the plans, and now he has almost reached his goal. But twists and turns have his past meeting his future and it's all up in the air. Danger is lurking, With Delta Security behind him, will everyone be safe? This story has a great balance of romance and suspense story. Tinsley and Cowboy have an amazing chemistry and after meeting them in the prequel, I knew I would be rooting for their love. Cowboy's backstory and the subsequent stream of events gave me the chills. And just getting to know the others in the team gave that family feeling of having their backs. I cannot wait to hear Reaper's story! This one is fabulous.

Enhancing the story is our team of narrators. Eric Bryan Moore and MK Blackwood bring this book alive. Moore voices Cowboy, a bit broody, a bit messed up, but with a heart that is huge. I love his voice as he is able to give so many emotions in it at the same time. Blackwood has the perfect voice for Tinsley. A young sound, but with a bit of maturity, she gives off that confidence and vulnerability at the same time. She does play the brat convincingly and then in the next breath gives a Tinsley that is compassionate and warm. Loved these two and their story telling. I can't wait for more!

New author to me

D.L. Lane is a new to me author. And, actually M.K. Blackwood was also. This was an easy, meandering listen. Nothing too intense. Just what I needed.
And, I really enjoyed the narration. Both narrators did such a good job. Eric Bryan Moore just brings characters to life. He has a voice that draws you in and a way of using it that keeps you stuck. And, M. K. Blackwood and Eric complimented each other very well. Very entertaining!

Pawns, revenge, collateral damage, impulse control

I enjoyed the suspense and some of the drama. Tinsley may have gotten a few years older, but she was still very impetus and immature with impulse control issues. She showed it throughout the story. Cowboy was right to put her off til she grew up a little. She had a lot of green eyed moments that weren't attractive and could have been lethal for her and others- more signs of immaturity. She had a huge problem understanding the concept of work that Cowboy needed to do. She interfered a lot-immature! I did like the big twist when the past comes back full force!!! I was disappointed that the clues with Tinsley at the end were so blatant to me- of course not to her though!! A decent way to waste a few hours. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narration was good.

A Romantic Suspense!

This is the first book in the Delta Security Series, a Romantic Suspense. The story continues where the prequel left off. I loved it!! Tinsley and Jesse's story is entertaining, filled with danger, suspense, and twists and turns. This is a great age gap romance. Eric Bryan Moore and M.K Blackwood did an excellent job bringing this story to life. Looking forward to more in the series.

I want me a Cowboy!💜

I have mixed feelings about this story.
FIrst let me just say, I enjoyed it.
Okay so this series is Delta Security right? But there wasn’t as much “Delta Security” as I expected. For me, this was more of a contemporary 2nd chance age gap romance, which to clarify, I enjoy as well. I was just expecting more angst rather than broken hearts. I’m sorry, I’m probably not making sense. 😂
Next, I also enjoy slow burns and don’t always feel the need to relive the sex scene every chapter, which was exactly what this story gave me and I absolutely loved. That said, I did however expect much more from their very first time, given how sexy and intimate some of the romantic scenes were before they had sex. I know I can’t make up my mind right? 🤦🏻‍♀️ It’s not my fault. Eric Bryan Moore has a sexy raspy deep voice that is panty melting. Especially when he does the accents OMG!!🔥🔥🔥
He’s got me all confused lol.
M.K. Blackwood was absolutely fantastic. Both narrators performed brilliantly. Overall I really enjoyed this book. Well done everyone.
This is book 1 with an HEA and can be read as a standalone.
I recommend this book.

A must listen

This book begins where the prequel to the series ends and was fantastic! I was looking forward to Cowboy and I loved it. D.L. Lane never disappoints, and the narrators really brought their A game.

Long

This book is long! The narrators did an awesome job. I read the prequel first. From there you get Tinsley’s view from high school when she feel in love with Cowboy who is 15 years older. As she got older she thought Cowboy was not interested in her due to her age. Eventually neither can fight the attraction and they have an HEA. Cowboy job does put everyone in danger and you do get some action in this book as well.
