Publisher's summary

Much of the city can't wake up. And more are dozing off each day. Instead of powerful forces storming Seattle, a more insidious invasion is happening. Most of Joanne Walker's fellow cops are down with the blue flu, or rather the blue sleep. Yet there's no physical cause anyone can point to, and it keeps spreading.

It has to be magical, Joanne figures. But what's up with the crazy dreams that hit her every time she closes her eyes? Are they being sent by Coyote, her still-missing spirit guide? The messages just aren't clear.

Somehow Joanne has to wake up her sleeping friends while protecting those still awake, figure out her inner-spirit dream life and, yeah, come to terms with those other dreams she's having about her boss. Wouldn't it be easier to just save the world?

once again, enjoyable!

once again, very enjoyable! the characters feel relatable and the story keeps me interested. I love Joann as a female lead. she's inspiring but also so real.

Thoroughly Enjoyable

Coyote Dreams is an exciting addition to the Walker Papers series. Many times I was so focused on listening to the story that I would find myself standing in one spot, staring at nothing – when I finally blinked, my eyes would water. The next book isn't expected out until 2009, but I know I will snatch it up as soon as it comes out.

Series is becoming very interesting

The first book was okay , the following two were much better.
If you know who Jane Yellowrock is or Mercy Thompson you'll probably like this series :)

Woman Shaman, Auto Mechanic and Street Beat Cop

Good luck finding a book like this series that has these elements that are amazingly congruent, well read, and totally unique!!! I'm in love with Gary the cab driver... such an usual sidekick! And for the 'older' reader, a hero to get excited about!

It was okay

I'm not sure if I will read the next book. This one was okay, too much of the story is spent inside Joanne's head: in trances, flashbacks, or her thoughts and regrets. There is a little character development in the characters but not enough to keep me interested.

Wonderful Book!

I am surprised by some of the reviews. They have right to their opinion, but wonder if people started with this book. I imagine story can be understood, but you don't get SO MUCH MORE from book if you read all of series. The story was very good. The characters seemed so real and grew from book one to book three. I liked series so much, that I plan to read other stories by CE Murphy.

Her powers need more structure

I like the characters but there seems to be no set of rules to her shamanic powers. It makes the narrative less coherent and filled with too much abstract symbology.

Love the series

Loving the Joanne Walker series it’s full of calamity and learning and miss steps, and mishaps and enjoyable things, learning about self and relationships, and where we stand in the world it’s a good thing looking forward to the next book.

Good, but don't read it first.

This was a good book, but you really need to have read the first two to understand the events and character growth.
