Listen listen listen!

This was excellent. It was well written and well narrated. The story was about excellent from the start. I fully expected the beginning to go the way of most stories have a dramatic change but no. The author stuck to it and executed. That opening scene set the tone right away and he kept going. The only thing I would have liked more is for the Asian undertones to have been highlighted more.

Crimson was brilliant, fast-paced from start to finish, highly ceative writing, cool creatures, characters & environment's vividly described making them easy to imagine. I recommend Crimson to anyone who enjoys fantasy stories even if you don't usually read tales of teenagers on quests.

This is a good Young Adult novel.

This novel was easy to listen to, it was fast paced and brought up a lot of values and how the characters got there. I truly enjoyed this novel and will gladly recommend it.

One Hell of a Ride!

I was not prepared for the fast-paced world that the author drives us into with “Crimson.” The main character has a lot of turmoil and it only gets worse for her. There are a lot of tough decisions and she keeps on moving. The descriptions of the world and all of the creatures were just great though. The battle of the sorcerers was one hell of a ride. Not just the finale, but the all of the story that revolved around them. The other main characters were well done and the comedy relief of one of them was welcome in a darker world. Would definitely recommend and think that people who love good fantasy will enjoy this story.

wonderful YA fantasy

I really liked this audiobook. Sometimes you get tired of series and just want a good stand-alone story, Although the author could continue with a sequel or prequel if desired, there's enough here to satisfy readers/listeners who don't want to wait for or commit to a series.

There is some violence in the story, but the focus is really on the heroine who has a noble heart and is willing to endure sacrifices for those she loves. The only reason why I deducted a star was because one of the main characters (a companion of the heroine) who I couldn't quite figure out. He was a major character for the first half of the story, a lesser character for the second half of the story, and and enigma all the way through.

The narration was absolutely wonderful - M. Trevathan's voices were compelling and interesting. She's more than a narrator, she's a story-teller. A perfect choice for a fantasy story with a young female protagonist.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
