About this listen

My Past Is Back to Haunt Me

They say a fae without a court slowly goes insane, so I should be in a rough state after my own court kicked me out. But I've managed to get by, hunting demons for fun and slinging drinks at Potions and Pastilles.

At least, until my past comes back to haunt me.

The king of the Ice Court has been hunting me for years. And when he finds me, he wants claim me as his fated mate. Worst of all? He then plans to sacrifice me to save his dying kingdom. But one touch changes everything, because I’m the only one who can warm him.

I convince him to return with me to the Court of Flames that banished me years ago, buying myself some time. My only goal is to kill him before he killed me. But I'm playing with fire, and i'm not sure if I can I resist him long enough to change my fate.

Linsey Hall does it again with this fun, smart, sexy urban fantasy romance.

The story was really good and keeps you wanting more, but the fake accent of the narrarator is absolutly awful and does make it difficult to get through it.

terrible accent

Storyline was o.k. Thanks to the extremely boring narrator I I couldn't get into this book. Thinking of reading this book, not sure if the Audible ruined it for me .😕

I tried. I really tried to listen and give this narrator a chance but I had to stop and remove myself from the misery. The stilted performance kept pulling me out of the story. Based on the portion I listened to, this person was reading words on a page rather than assuming the identity of the character, something that would have been appropriate for a story told from a first person perspective. There was no variation in pace, little to no alteration of voice according to character.
