About this listen
We've seen evidence that a new economic cycle has begun. Technological revolutions come by way of a cluster of new innovations. About a decade ago, you started to see AI, robotics, and IoT (sensors) delivering on automation. That's been powerful, but not transformational. It does not force businesses to fundamentally change how they do business. The last piece of the puzzle is cryptocurrency because it allows us to process and transfer economic value without human intervention. Soon, there will be a global race to build autonomous operations. Businesses and organizations without autonomous operations simply will not be able to compete with those that do because autonomy is the ultimate competitive advantage.
Crypto is the mechanism that will accrue value from being the infrastructure for the next digital financial revolution. Crypto Asset Investing in the Age of Autonomy lays out a case that we've begun a new technological revolution similar to the Internet Age of the 1990s. Artificial intelligence, the internet of things, robotics, and cryptocurrency are converging to deliver on a new age, what author Jake Ryan calls the Age of Autonomy. Understanding the transformation that's taken place before anyone else can yield enormous investment opportunity. In this book, you'll learn how and why to invest in crypto assets.

Story
The story of Ethereum begins with Vitalik Buterin, a supremely gifted 19-year-old autodidact who saw the promise of blockchain when the technology was in its earliest stages. He convinced a crack group of coders to join him in his quest to make a super-charged, global computer. The Infinite Machine introduces Vitalik’s ingenious idea and unfolds Ethereum’s chaotic beginnings. It then explores the brilliant innovation and reckless greed the platform has unleashed and the consequences that resulted as the frenzy surrounding it grew.

During the Global Financial Crisis in 2008, our financial infrastructure failed. Governments bailed out the very institutions that let the economy down. This episode spurred a serious rethink of our financial system. In DeFi and the Future of Finance, Campbell R. Harvey, Ashwin Ramachandran, and Joey Santoro introduce the new world of decentralized finance. The book argues that the current financial landscape is ripe for disruption and we are seeing, in real time, the reinvention of finance.

Money - investing, personal finance, and business decisions - is typically taught as a math-based field, where data and formulas tell us exactly what to do. But in the real world people don’t make financial decisions on a spreadsheet. They make them at the dinner table, or in a meeting room, where personal history, your own unique view of the world, ego, pride, marketing, and odd incentives are scrambled together. In The Psychology of Money, award-winning author Morgan Housel shares 19 short stories exploring the strange ways people think about money.

Using gold as an example of this term, he traces the layers of this ancient currency from raw mined material, to gold coins, and finally to bank-issued gold certificates. In a groundbreaking manner, Bhatia offers a similar paradigm for the evolution of digital currencies.

Real estate investors used to build wealth the hard way: slowly saving money and sacrificing their current happiness for a future reward. This method produces results in the long run but what if there's a better, more efficient way that works in years instead of decades? Buy, Rehab, Rent, Refinance, Repeat (BRRRR) is the five-part real estate investing strategy that makes financial freedom more attainable than ever: You buy a property under market value, add value with renovations, rent it out to tenants, complete a cash-out refinance, and then use that money to do it all over again.

The finance sector of Western economies is too large and attracts too many of the smartest college graduates. Financialization over the past three decades has created a structure that lacks resilience and supports absurd volumes of trading. The finance sector devotes too little attention to the search for new investment opportunities and the stewardship of existing ones, and far too much to secondary-market dealing in existing assets. Regulation has contributed more to the problems than the solutions.

Anchored by six megabanks, which together control assets amounting to more than 60 percent of the country's gross domestic product, these financial institutions (now more emphatically "too big to fail") continue to hold the global economy hostage.

The Shifts and the Shocks is not another detailed history of the crisis, but the most persuasive and complete account yet published of what the crisis should teach us about modern economies and economics. The audiobook identifies the origin of the crisis in the complex interaction between globalization, hugely destabilizing global imbalances and our dangerously fragile financial system.

Raghuram Rajan was one of the few economists who warned of the global financial crisis before it hit. Now, as the world struggles to recover, it's tempting to blame what happened on just a few greedy bankers who took irrational risks and left the rest of us to foot the bill. In Fault Lines, Rajan argues that serious flaws in the economy are also to blame, and warns that a potentially more devastating crisis awaits us if they aren't fixed.

Story
The years since the Great Crisis of 2008 have seen slow growth, high unemployment, falling home values, chronic deficits, a deepening disaster in Europe - and a stale argument between two false solutions, “austerity” on one side and “stimulus” on the other. Both sides and practically all analyses of the crisis so far take for granted that the economic growth from the early 1950s until 2000 - interrupted only by the troubled 1970s - represented a normal performance.

William Bernstein's commonsense approach to portfolio construction has served investors well during the past turbulent decade - and it's what made The Four Pillars of Investing an instant classic when it was first published nearly a decade ago. This down-to-earth book lays out in easy-to-understand prose the four essential topics that every investor must master: the relationship of risk and reward, the history of the market, the psychology of the investor and the market, and the folly of taking financial advice from investment salespeople.

This is the book on crypto and finance your looking for!
Without a doubt the best book on crypto I’ve listen to or read. More in-depth and expansive on types of coins and their uses as well as potential trading guidelines and systems you may use. A very balanced and educated view of history, financial markets, crypto and the future of financial markets integrated with crypto and how they will intersect and interact with one another. Excellent… this is the book your looking for!

A Must Read/Listen!!
I'm already on my second listen of this deeply insightful book. Gratitude to the author for breaking down the mystical and complicated future to come into an understandable and quite entertaining narrative. I highly recommend this book if you are seeking a clear understanding not only of what Crypto Currencies are but what purpose they serve and how the future of blockchain will shape our lives. I'm listening to the title again to make sure I didn't miss anything. The knowledge passed in this book will set you up for the unfolding future. Thank you Jake.. can't wait for the next book.

Worth it - Pros Outweigh the Cons
Overall, the book is worth suffering through the cons. For instance, I disagree with respect to MMT, but the arguments of the author are valid and worth discussing seriously. I learned a lot listening to the book, and I’ll likely listen again. Pun intended, it’s worth its weight in gold.
Pros:
-Well put together and formatted
-Informative and mostly balanced
-Author is knowledgeable and can genuinely be considered an expert worth listening to.
-Not at all partisan or politically biased
-I feel like I learned a ton and I’m not a complete newb to the subject matter
Cons:
-Misses the point that MMT is less a theory and more an explanation of the transitional period between old money and new money.
-Sounds a little like Glenn Beck at times when describing the current state of the US dollar. You’ll want to say, “Relax, Chicken Little” at least a few times.
-The pitch and inflection get really annoying at times. Hard to describe, but imagine every sentence for several chapters ending with wide eyes and a drawn out final syllable.

Everything you need to know about money & cryptos
Think of this book as a Bible of Banking and Cryptos, which you will learn alot about Money itself.
The 1st one third of the book, he talks about money and banking, at first it seems irrelevant to the title of the book as it seemed that was not what I purchased the book for, but those chapters creates an important base for the rest of the book where the author talks about why we have cryptocurrencies in the first place and what's good for individually in details (which it can be very technical and hard to understand at times) then it goes on explaining strategies and blends the new knowledge with the first chapters of the book for what kind of problems can cryptos solve that the traditional money can't, hence the value in them.
It a very technical book, and i suggest to listen to it at least 2 times to retain the information to understand not only about cryptos but also gain general knowledge of Americana banking system.
The performance of the book deserves 10 stars and make it very pleasant to listen to, I recommend this book, also because it was published during the pandemic and covers new global challenges.
