About this listen

Doing well with money isn’t necessarily about what you know. It’s about how you behave. And behavior is hard to teach, even to really smart people.

Money - investing, personal finance, and business decisions - is typically taught as a math-based field, where data and formulas tell us exactly what to do. But in the real world people don’t make financial decisions on a spreadsheet. They make them at the dinner table, or in a meeting room, where personal history, your own unique view of the world, ego, pride, marketing, and odd incentives are scrambled together.

In The Psychology of Money, award-winning author Morgan Housel shares 19 short stories exploring the strange ways people think about money and teaches you how to make better sense of one of life’s most important topics.

Great recommend

I liked how he made the book sound simple and the actions not so hard to implement. I have it a four stars because I don’t fully agree with some of the initial things the author spoke about. But who knows you might. There’s nothing wrong with the book and it is a great listen. The reader made it very enjoyable to listen to. I’d recommend this book to someone trying to reach financial freedom but they’re somewhere between starting off and the end point.
Good luck listeners and readers

Overall great book

Overall this book was great on the ideals of money and classism’s. It was a bit dry at times though the narrator did a great job. You have to be in the mindset for this or it will be boring.

Great insight

I read and listen to a ton of books, this is one of my favorites. Its not overly complex yet deep in insight. Rather a novice or seasoned investor this is worth your time. It’d honestly be great for anyone managing a household budget as no investment knowledge or experience will be needed to comprehend this.

Same message as the blogpost, more detailed

This is an expansion of the blogpost published in 2018, which I loved.
While the message is the same, to me the extra details and stories are worth it.

The Narrator is pretty good as well.
