About this listen

Cupid is the god of love and a tireless maker of mischief. When he breaks out his bow and quiver, nobody's safe. Sleepless nights, embarrassing poetry, nausea...What could be more fun? Only, perhaps, seeing the god of love humbled with a little heartache of his own.

With healthy doses of wit and wisdom, Julius Lester's disarming narrative leads us through the tale of Cupid and Psyche and helps us navigate our own treacherous passions.

Critic reviews

"For fans of romance and mythology, this is highly entertaining. Lester casts the two protagonists as adolescents coming of age through the trials and ultimate triumph of their love." (Publishers Weekly)

Gives new polish to dusty classic literature!

I've never been able to stomach literary classics, because of huge language/cultural/time gulf that tend to separate 'classics' from younger generations...but I absolutely loved this! I almost listened to the entire book, with "soap opera" enthusiasm, because it was tht good.

The narrator had a 'comforting' effect on me, while at the same time making the story-line as juicy as it could be!

Great story!

This story has so much of Greek mythology in it. It’s a very good story. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
