About this listen
From the best-selling author of Lottery comes a new novel about greed, survival, and what's really important in life.
At the bottom of the heap, there's nowhere to go but up.
Waitress Tammy Tyree knows this intimately. Her life is a continual struggle of managing an eccentric uncle, looking after a younger brother who's not quite right, and doing everything she can to keep her family together in the small town of Spring, Washington. But Tammy has a couple of things going for her no matter how dire things get. She's tenacious and has her own take on karma. She believes the more unfortunate things that happen to a person, the more that person is due for a windfall. Each and every misfortune is a further guarantee that a golden opportunity is just around the corner.
When Tammy receives a confidential e-mail about an inheritance that's hers to claim, she's certain her ship has come in. Just a few details need to be ironed out, like a small matter of some fees to pay, bank forms to fill out, and taxes to remit, but she knows each complication brings her closer to that golden goose of egg-laying renown.
What starts as a personal quest ends up embroiling Tammy and everyone she holds dear in a scheme that could be the financial downfall of them all or the rescue of a small town that's slowly but surely falling through the cracks.

Story
The modern audience hasn't had a chance to truly appreciate the unknowing dread that readers would have felt when reading Bram Stoker's original 1897 manuscript. Most modern productions employ campiness or sound effects to try to bring back that gothic tension, but we've tried something different. By returning to Stoker's original storytelling structure - a series of letters and journal entries voiced by Jonathan Harker, Dr. Van Helsing, and other characters - with an all-star cast of narrators, we've sought to recapture its originally intended horror and power.

You'd think that basically being in charge of love would be an epic job, right? Wrong. Sure, I can blow some Lust into people's faces and watch the show, but I can't actually participate. It gets old, trust me. Same goes for love. I can pass it out like sugar-free lollipops at a dentist's office, but I can't get any love for myself. It totally sucks. I used to consider myself a hopeless romantic, so why wouldn't I choose to become a cupid? Sounds like a good idea, right? Wrong again. They don't call us stupid cupids for nothing.

This fourth wall-breaking, three-book collection showcases Jackson's adventures through fantasy realms, comic book universes, and classic space opera settings. Each fast-paced novel allows Jackson to flex his powers, skills, and wits as he exploits the rules, points out the respective genre's flaws, and undermines godly authority to win the day. All the while laughing at the expense of our beloved tropes. Because that is what villains should do, shouldn’t they?

What did you love best about Cupidity?
The descriptions of the people in the story were so well done you felt you knew them.Who was your favorite character and why?
I liked Tammy best because she was so innocent and optimistic. She seldom seemed to be upset by her circumstances and took life as it happened.Have you listened to any of Michelle Babb’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No I haven't.Who was the most memorable character of Cupidity and why?
Jarr was very special and naïve. He had talents and was always willing to try something new.Any additional comments?
I felt that the story was slow to get into, but once "in" I looked forward to hearing more. How Bad Can It Get?

The story is a little over the top. It would be hard to find that many people who still belive in an inheritance offered through an email. But there are some interesting turns of events and the ending is unexpected.
Great narration. Story has an interesting ending
Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
Would you listen to Cupidity again? Why?
I sadly will not, as I feel the ending really undermines the quiet sincerity and message of the text. What was one of the most memorable moments of Cupidity?
I would hate to spoil anything. Suffice it to say, you will be immersed within the essence of small town America and perhaps be reminded of the innocence that time has cruelly distorted throughout your life.Have you listened to any of Michelle Babb’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have not. However I would be happy to. Babb effortlessly breathes life into every syllable and radiates a soft elegant charmIf you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
PricelessAny additional comments?

Would you listen to Cupidity again? Why?
I think I might pick up little things I missed the first time because I was trying to figure out the ending - which was greatWhat did you like best about this story?
I liked the build up. Couldn't figure out how it would end except very badly - great surprise endingWhich character – as performed by Michelle Babb – was your favorite?
Jar (sp) I really liked how she expressed his expletives. They made me smile and really made him a very likable character.Who was the most memorable character of Cupidity and why?
I did like Jar but Tammy was very memorable. I have started using "beeswax" a lot since listening to this. I liked how she kept talking about everyone knowing her beeswax among other things.Any additional comments?
I really liked how Michelle had different inflections and voices for different characters. It really made the book easier to listen to since I didn't have to back it up and figure out who was talking. Overall this was a very pleasant/edge of my seat book to listen to. The build up was excellent and I really enjoyed the ending. Makes me want to listen again to experience the story all over again.Loved the performance
Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
The characters were unlike any I’ve ever known before. The author’s descriptions were great to begin with, and the narrator really brought them to life through her talented and nuanced voices, even managing the challenge of Jar’s unusual speech deficiency.
Cupidity is a sequel, and although I didn’t read the first novel ahead of time, it stood well on its own. I was given a free copy for the purposes of review, but was not pressured in any way to do anything but give an honest opinion.
A different kind of hero

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
This book was hilarious. I've already recommended to a few coworkers. I laughed at numerous parts of the story. What did you like best about this story?
When others in the town point out that it is a scam, people still give her money. I couldn't help at laugh at them. They were lovable stupids!Which scene was your favorite?
How she convinced herself that the email was real. We have all seem those emails and yet, she believed it and wrote back to them. Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
This story moves along at a nice speed, so I want to just continue on. I hated putting the device down and stop listening.Any additional comments?

Stupid town, perfect story!!
Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
The narration was skillfully done and highly amusing! I really enjoyed it :) I am sure that a lot of my enjoyment of this book was due to the narrator's portrayal of the individual characters and situations. I would definitely be interested in more Audible Editions featuring this talented narrator!
Tammy is a Tyree. That means no one thinks much of her. Her family's reputation is enough to keep her down for the most part. Between taking care of her Autistic brother and dealing with all of her Uncle E's crazy schemes it is a wonder she has time to hold a job ... Much less a couple. Working at Two Spoons gives her access to email. Learning of an inheritance through her email both excites her and causes her trepidation. How will she come up with $500 for the fees? Will she be found worthy by Dr. Barinas? Or will she lose her inheritance to some less worthy relative?
***This book is a cozy and suitable for young adult through adult readers who enjoy a little travesty in their cozy mysteries with a dash of romance and a bit of injustice :) I HIGHLY recommend the Audible Edition as it is an engaging and unique way to enjoy this particular novel!

I received the Audible version of this book in exchange for an honest review and I feel like the narration totally enhanced a great book. The book is narrated by Michelle Babb and she does an absolutely fabulous job. She had the perfect voice for Tammy and did a marvelous job handling Jar’s (Tammy’s brother) unique language.
If you are considering reading or listening to this book, do it! You will not be disappointed!
